TEST: pH VALUE OF SOLUTIONS DURING ACID ATTACK TEST
For acid attack test cubes were placed in solutions. Plastic boxes of capacity 7 litres were used for
placing cubes in solution. After initial curing of cubes, were placed in solution, before placing cubes
in solution, the pH of HCL solution and H2SO4solution were calculated and the pH of tap water is in
the range of 7 to 8. These results are as follows.
Table 1: pH of solutions before placing cubes (0 day)

S.No. Solution Box No. Temperature (oC) pH value

1 23.2 1.964
1 H2SO4 2 23.5 1.916
3 23.4 1.902
4 23.2 1.656
2 HCL 5 23.9 1.650
6 24.1 1.641

After initial curing of cubes, were placed in solution. After placing cubes in solution for 28 days, the
pH of HCL solution and H2SO4 solution were calculated. These results are as follows.
Table 2: pH of solutions after placing cubes (28 day)
S.No. Solution Box No. Temperature (oC) pH value
1 27.0 11.062
1 H2SO4 2 26.7 11.940
3 26.8 11.137
4 26.7 11.465
2 HCL 5 26.8 12.207
6 26.9 12.008

After initial curing of cubes, were placed in solution, before placing cubes in solution, the pH of HCL
solution and H2SO4 solution were calculated. These results are as follows.
