Anisotropic Yield Criteria

1) Hill 1948

[19]Hill R. A theory of the yielding and plastic flow of Anisotropic metals. (Good one)

The paper is discussing the original of Hill’s criteria that was originally stemed from Von mises criteria
for isotropic yield criteria. Then it discussed different cases in which it try to implement the criteria to
match the physical behavior with what the criteria is expecting. Three examples were discussed ;
necking under uniaxial tension of thin strips cut from rolled sheet. It tries to specify the necking
angles based on the criteria and co,pare it to the experiment.The second example is pure torsion of
thin-walled cylinder ; it states that anisotropy increases with the torsion increase. Finally, the theory
tries to predict the earing phenomena occuring in the deep drawing simulation problem.
