North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon at a glance

The North Maharashtra University is one of the upcoming universities in India, the
university was established on 15th August, 1990. The university was shifted to its own
campus in 1995.The university is situated on the banks of river "Girna" and the
campus of the university is spread over a hilly terrain of 650 acres of land. The natural
beauty, peaceful & pollution-free environment of the university does encourage the
students of various disciplines for thinking, learning & research.

School Life Sciences at a glance

Established in 1991, the School encompasses three departments viz. Dept. of
Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology under one umbrella for M.Sc.
courses. Other individual and specialized laboratories like Plant Tissue Culture,
Cyanobacteria, Probiotics, Siderophore, Biofuel, Biopesticides, Fermentation etc. are
also integral part of the School. The School has successfully completed research
projects worth ~ Rs. 2 crores and is currently conducting 8 research projects with a
research grant of around Rs. 1 crore from various government agencies like UGC,
DBT, DST, CSIR, RGSTM, etc. The School is supported with special grants by UGC
(UGC-SAP-DRS) and DST (DST-FIST) program also.

Scope and objectives of the conference

The main objective of BFA 2010 is to provide appropriate platform for the emerging
researchers, academicians and students. They will get opportunities to interact with
well known scientists in the field.
The theme of conference is to accommodate all types of scientific activities related to
Life sciences. Today, the main beneficiary of developments in Biotechnology is not
confined to any class, but encompasses all classes of people. Today, Biotechnology is
not restricted to researchers from Life sciences, but also all science fields making it
truly inter-disciplinary.

Accommodation
Jalgaon city has number of hotels / guest houses in the town which are 12 km away
from the university campus. However, dormitory, accommodation for limited number
of participants could be arranged on first come first serve and paid basis.

Call for papers

Full length manuscripts are invited from the participants in the areas enlisted above
which will be subjected to peer reviewing and assessment. Manuscripts shall be
prepared according to guidelines available on the website
http://nmu.ac.in/journal/journal.aspx. Short listed/selected manuscripts will be
published either in the form of book or in a suitable journal.
