I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
1. Classify the different types of chemical reactions with their given formula;
2. Perform the activities related to the different types chemical reaction; and
3. Explain the application of the different types of chemical reaction.

B. Review
The teacher will refresh the students about the topic they previously

C. Motivation
Let them have an the activity entitled, “Arrange Me with My Proper
D. Lesson Proper
Based from the first activity they will distinguish the different types of
chemical reaction.
 Combination reaction (Synthesis)
 Decomposition reaction (Analysis)
 Single displacement reaction (Substitution)
 Double displacement reaction (Metathesis)
 Combustion reaction (Burning)
 Neutralization reaction (Acid-base)

E. Application
They will choose picture from the different types of chemical reaction and
explain it.
F. Generalization
The class will fill up the blank concept with the appropriate word to be
given by them.
IV. Evaluation
The teacher will give the materials with questions to be answered.
V. Assignment
Read some references to answer the following questions:
1. What is Law of Conservation of Mass?
2. What are the steps in balancing equation?
 The class will be divided into six group. The first two rows will be the red group
and the other will be orange group. Similar to this which yellow group and green
group. Then, blue group and violet group.
 Each group must have a leader, secretary and a presenter. The other members
of the group will be representatives.
 The most discipline team will be given extra points.

Stories within Me
1. Each group will arrange the pictures and jumbled word inside the envelope.
2. Paste the pictures and the arrange word in a manila paper.
3. Make a short story about it.
4. Every group will have 2 representatives to present their output it in front.
5. All group will be given 2 minutes to do the task and 1 minute presentation.

Salt - Sodium Chloride (NaCl)

Chalk – Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3)

Water – (H2O)

Bleach – Sodium hypochlorite (NaClO)

Cake – Baking soda reacts w/ acidic subs. in cake batter [NaHCO3 + H(a)
 Na + H(a)(HCO3)]
Classify the following unbalanced chemical equations according to the six types of
chemical reactions. Write the letter before the number. (Use UPPERCASE letter only).
A. Combination
B. Decomposition
C. Single displacement
D. Double displacement
E. Combustion
F. Neutralization

1. NaOH + KNO3  NaNO3 +KOH

2. CH4 + O2  CO2 + 2 H2O
3. Fe + NaBr  FeBr3 + Na
4. CaSO4 + Mg(OH)2  Ca(OH)2 + MgSO4
5. NH4OH + HBr  H2O + NH4Br
6. P4 + O2  P2O5
7. NaNO3  NaNO2 + O2
8. C18H18 + O2  CO2 + H2O
9. H2SO4 + NaOH  NaSO4 + H2O
10. NiSO4 + LiPO4  Ni3(PO4)2 + Li2SO4
11. 2 NaBr + 2 Ca(OH)2  2 CaBr2 + 2 NaOH
12. 2 NH3+ 1 H2SO4  3 (NH4)2SO4
13. 4 C5H9O + 28 O2  22 CO2 + 18 H2O
14. 3 Pb + 4 H3PO4  3 H2 + 2 Pb3(PO4)2
15. 4 Li3N + 3 NH4NO3  3 LiNO3 + 2 (NH4)3N
