Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees


Board Meeting held on January 09, 2019

Marie Black called the meeting to order at 9:07 a.m.

Minutes from November. Dr. Imogene Mixson moved to have the November minutes
approved and Christina Faulkner seconded. All were in favor and the motion passed.

Circulation Report. Sandra Holmes gave an overview.

Financial Report. Reviewed reports and Marie Black added that we received a $30,000.00
donation from Mr. Hugo Marx.

Old Business.
A. Library Update. Bonnie Crawford stated that because of the Government shutdown, we
have not heard anything back from the USDA grant for the library.

B. United Way: This month we will submit a report to United Way and then meet with
them to determine our need.

New Business.
A. Election of New Officers: Chairman – Marie Black
Vice Chairman – Marian Jenkins
Treasurer – Dr. Imogene Mixson
Secretary – Christina Faulkner
Liaison – Bill Johnson

Christina Faulkner moved to have the new slate of elected Board Officers approved and
Dr. Imogene Mixson seconded. All were in favor and the motion passed.

B. New Building Information. Marie Black stated that we met with the Architects this
week and copies of the revised building layout plans were passed out for the board to
review. The Architects will give a complete unveiling of the New Building Plan layout
during the Friends of the Library (FOL) New membership luncheon to be held on 28
January 2019 at 12:00. Marie Black presented the revised New Building plans to the
Board today for review. Sandra Holmes suggested that we invite the City and County
Officials with special invitations and also Mr. Hugo Marx. Bonnie Crawford will
personally contact the County Official Chairman and members to reinforce their
attendance. Bonnie also suggested that we include a New Building Donation Form
inside the Friends of the Library Luncheon program so that we may collect donations at
the luncheon.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m., and the next meeting will be held on February 13,
2019 at 9 a.m.
