The success of a dream is that when the

dreamer is gone, the dream continues.
EVERYTHING
HAS A COST
Roberta has created the most unique
bread and it soon became very popular
among the local community. because
there is nothing in the world like it. Her
ambition was to spread her bread all
over the world for everyone to try.

She could not change the world with

one small action, you do not make
history baking bread just for a few
people. That is how things are.

8
9
10
11
To be big it takes more than just making
a unique bread. Certainly, some things
need to be compromised. To make it,
it will take everything from it, but it will
give you many other things back, it’s
a sacrifice of success. Those who have
been great but small, have been long
gone forgotten.

The illusion of freedom
Ana thinks she is free because she can choose her favourite
shampoo from all the shampoos in the shop. What Ana does not
know is that the options have already been narrowed down. The
government decides what products can be commercialised and
sold in a particular territory. The store owner selects of all the
products in the world, which to sell. The media is always waking
those deep desires that we did not know we had, like those shoes
you “really, really, really” need. As it sums up, is better to have
the idea that we are free, rather than assuming the effort and
responsibility that genuine freedom comes from.

14
Arrange in this pyramid from top to bottom, who chooses first:

Options:
-You
- Government
- Store owner
- Community
- Media
- Celebrities
- Gods
- Other: __________

They overwhelm us with options; It is all meticulously measured,

so we do not realise we been caged all our lives. The system is so
perfect that we oversee what having all these options implicate
inside our happy freedom bubble :)
The real question is who is this puppeteer?
15
What good for some, is bad for the
others and one can not please them
all...

Or can you?
IN SOCIAL
CONVENTION
WE BELIEVE
A rose is and only will be in the complete
determination of a particular mind.

What is that
thing that we call

“rose”?
The core conventions function
as anchors and everything
moves around them. Therefore,
we have one thing we can hold
up to.

18
This is why we behave conventionally.
19
A general sense of agreement, a social convention.

All the structures that we now take for granted, where once social
convention.

Society makes you benefit from them; they are also given to you.
Individuals tend to follow the choice of the majority; stability is
guaranteed.

Some conventions are nested in other agreement

turning into a very distant line of conventions. They
are historically grounded. One monumental change
could have an impact on all aspect of life.
20
And
where is
the reciprocity?

I was never asked,

My mind in tamed and yours
is too. 21
The so-called “common knowl

22
ledge” is not that common...

23
24
25
MOST OF THE
THINGS TODAY
CAN BE DEFINED
BY HOW THEY ARE
PERCEIVED. ALL ARE
EQUALLY VALID.
YOUR IDEAS ARE
SCRIPTED IN YOUR
MIND, THEY ARE NOT
REAL.
Repetition, repetition, repetition

28
29
Sheep: What If I do something bad and don't realise It was
bad? I thought I was making something good...

Horse: When the lines

between right and wrong
vanish, we see ourselves in
an ethical trap. Right and
wrong are arbitrary, and
most of the time we don´t
realise we are contributing
to ideas we do not support.
Is like living in the sea, you
are not aware of the water
that surrounds you, because
water is just always there.

30
Sheep: So, what is right or wrong can always be disrupted?

Horse: Indeed, but never say that out loud, because someone
might be listening and that could break the magic bow, we
need to behave conventionally to be able to coexist.

31
IF YOU ARE

ARBITRARY,

THE

WEAKNESS.

32
AWARE OF
THE

CONVENTION

Bull: But never underestimate the .0001% that do not act

conventionally, these mad people had brought to us wanders
and joy.

APPLES
AND OTHER
THINGS
CHAPTER ONE:
POTENTIAL APPLE

Dedicated to S.M
36
37
Apple 1: You are great, but something is missing.
Maybe try to get a stem? I recommend you to read the
book “From ginger gold to gold rush, all about yellow
apples” for the rebel color of yours, also a basic book
is “Apples are for apples, like apples are to me” by
Howgate Wonder, just for you to get a better idea of
who you are. Hope that helps!

38
Apple 2: Well, the seed might not be seen all the time,
but they are surely important. Your seeds need more
work; they are to pale and in need of some smoothing.
There is an exhibition on seeds in the Victoria & Apple
Museum; It’s fantastic, check it out!

39
Apple 3: I totally get you; I am tired of all the time
seeing these perfect apples, all round and bright red.
We are not all like that; there are thousands of different
types of apples! But that juiciness, It is a bit too much,
Totally overdoing it.

40
Apple 4: Hey dude, I saw those apples being too tough
on you... How do you feel?

Orange: I appreciate the help, but I am not an apple.

Apple 4: I know how you feel, but we live in a world

of apples, and you need to think about that. If only
apples are going to see you, they might as well become
an apple like I did. I have gotten not one single bad
comment since then!

41
Orange: I don’t want to be an apple. Why do you want
more apples? You have more than enough, all types,
colours and forms, I think apples could use an orange
once in a while. And what happens to all the oranges?
To all the fruits on this planet? Are you ignoring they
exist? Do they need to be filtered so you can see them?

42
Apple 4: Is not that bad once you make it dude, I can
help you!

Orange: I will not.

43
CHAPTER TWO:
WHEN THE
OPPRESSED
BECOMES THE
OPPRESSOR

44
45
Avocado: Hey you! Come here...

Orange: Who are you?

Avocado: I´m Avocado, I know how you feel. Since I

was born I been hiding from this apple world. One day
all of us Avocados will go out and fight. Once we win,
we will ban all apples from the world, and anything
related to them will vanish!

Orange: Are avocados a fruit?

46
Avocado: Yes, we are fruit you stupid, ignorant orange,
just because I´m not a cause of diabetes it means that
I’m not a fruit. You know what, you are just like them,
a retrograde piece of shit. I’ll make sure we get rid of
oranges too.

Orange: Ahhh!

47
Banana: Wait, Orange; Avocado is very hurt, It has got
to him. I am Banana by the way.

Orange: He is mean an insulting!

Banana: He has been fighting his entire life, it’s been

hard to go against the current all the time.

Orange: Yea, I do agree with the apple extermination

idea though, about time!

48
Banana: Seriously? You have been discriminated all
your life, and now you wanna do the same thing that
they did to you?

Orange: It’s called justice!

Banana: No! Is called resentment. Not all apples are

bad, most of the apples are not even aware that other
fruits exist and some apples are helping other fruits.
The problem is not the apples; the problem is thinking
we are entitled to choose how fruit should live their
life, including you. Power, tyranny and despotism is our
problem, and it comes in any shape or form.

Orange: Oh, so now it is our fault that everything is so

fucked up?

Banana: I’m not saying that Orange, Do not put

words in my mouth. All I´m saying is that all of this is
a consequence of a bigger problem and because we
are not addressing that bigger problem that we still
have it. A not only the diversity thing, there are many
other issues that distort our understanding of the world
caused by this fruits. Today here, now, it happens to be
all apples, but it could be anyone else, and as how I
see things, it could easily be you, not oranges, you, as
a single individual.

49
50
Orange: Go to hell Banana, this is the real world, not
your stupid idealistic fantasy, this is how things are, and
this is how it has always been. Shove your peace and
love down your ass.

Hey Avocado, let’s end this apple imperialism for once!

51
It only takes one bad seed o to contaminate the rest
THE FIRST TO
THROW THE
ROCK
Miss Pilli lets all kids take only one toy during playing time.
This is to avoid conflict between kids, and it has worked
just fine. The system works so perfectly that Miss Pilli leaves
the classroom during playtime to have a cigarette break.
Antonio spotted out this habit of miss Pilli and decided to
take two toys for playtime one day because he needed two
hoops for his game. All the other kids were concerned and
disrupted about this but no one said anything. The next day,
the same thing happened. The third day, some kids decide
that is not fair that Antonio gets two toys so they also took
two, and some took three. At this point, most of the kids are
left without toys for the day and fights start to take place.
Miss Pilli overlooks through the window, but she thinks that
they are just role playing.

Francisco decides that he does not want to get into fights so

he built his toys out of the trash and Roberta could not care
less because she likes books. But not everyone is like them,
so they look for other solutions. Sofía hid all the boardgames
behind the bookcase for the next day, Dimitri decided to
break some of the toy cars and pistols, so no one wants
them, and María wrote her name in all the stuffed animals.
After a week, some kids started exchanging the use of toys
for lunch, homework or cool stationary materials leaving
the least fiercely kids with nothing. It is too late now, by the
time Miss Pilli realises this is happening, it will already be
too late to fix.

54
What is the name of the story?

Is it right for miss Pilli to let kids take only one toy?

What if one day a kid needs two toys for an idea? Why would she say
no?

Is the solution to ban all toys and playtime for good?

To expel Antonio form school?

Why are kids so dependant on toys? Why are toys so vital to them?

They are just Toys? There is not a need is just a desire.

What would the solution be?

What is justice? Because as how I see it, what is just for you, is not just
for me and there is no one single thing that all just things are.

55
Power is the ability to coordinate
a bunch of people, to be able to
do new things that will come into
being.

56
Power is constructive or destructive
and it leads the world into
something positive or negative.

BORDER
PEOPLE
MEXICO - USA
Mike Johnson
Head mechanic at the Mortorrum, auto repair centre
“This place, I been here since I was a kid, every memory when I grew up
took place here. But today is nothing like it used to be, I don´t recognise
this place anymore. They are loud, they speak other languages that I don't
understand, their food smells, and it's spicy. One day you wake up, and
they are everywhere, in my job, in my block, at the bar, at the shops. It is
fair to ask to have my town back.”

64
Unknow
Monarch butterfly
“The winter is over and we all must fly north to lay our eggs for the next
generation to be born. The word out there is that it is difficult to find
milkweed plants these days, we know most of us will not make it.”

65
Hilary Castillo
The United States Border patrol agent
“We were catching two to three hundred a day until the cartels took over
the human trade, those sons of bastards. Our job is humanitarian, we help
immigrants and keep them safe, but they are always the first to shoot, our
life is on the line.”

66
Robert Perez
Ex-worker at the National Hospital
“I don’t know what I’m I supposed to do in Mexico, I don´t even speak
Spanish and know no one. I crossed the border 30 years ago when I was
5. The US doesn’t want me, Mexico doesn’t want me, I just don’t belong
anywhere, and what am I supposed to do?”

67
Julio Rodriguez
Federal Mexican Police
“Ye, we also need to get our share, those dudes have lots of money, you
know? to cross the border, and some of that form me, is part of the cost. I
mean, I am supporting them to not get deported, my services have a cost.”

68
Miguel Ángel Reyes
Unofficial refugee
“It is tough to travel thousands of kilometers with nothing, but it is more
difficult to stay where we were. I have been kidnapped by the cartel for
months, scammed by people who offered “help”, we have spent weeks with
no food walking on the heat, no sleep, no showers. Today I stand in front
of the US border and tomorrow I will live the American dream.”

69
El “Pizcas”
Pollero of the south border
“Well, the price Is different my friend, it depends If we take you through
mountains, in a small plane, though car with fake documents or a tunnel.
Very easy, I take you with a border agent that is a friend of the “company”
for 30,000 dollars, and I can even connect you with a job at a farm just
because I like you.”

70
Sarah Manson
Student at the UCLA University
“Hell yeah, things are so crazy over here, crazy drunk people its awesome!
Last night I was making out with a local, and I thought, they should be
paying for this! But in the end, I let him do it because we are in Cabo baby!

71
Emma Williams
Owner of Williams Industries, cultivation and manufacturing of products
based on cotton
“No American workforce is willing to do this job, If they would, I would
give them a job. Hispanics are doing the jobs that Americans don´t want
to do. My business is already fraught with uncertainties about the weather
and consumer preferences to be worrying about not happing employees
the next day.”

72
Anonymous
Sicario of a cartel
“We were sent to the United States to take someone. We torture him for
days, but the order was to keep him alive to bring him back to Mexico for
the chief. Everyone dies even if you pay your duties, that is how it is. The
cartel has no border, they can pay for anything. If they can move tons and
tons of drugs, they can do a person.

73
Firullais
Dog of a wealthy Mexican family
“I love going to San Diego! I can run free in the park, get delicious treats
and new toys! The only thing that I do not enjoy is getting in that small
and dark cage for hours but is well worth it, worth, it worth it !”

74
NOT FROM HERE,
NOT FROM THERE,
NOT FROM ANYWHERE,
WHERE I AM A FORM ,
AND WHO I AM,
IS NOT FOR ME TO DECIDE,
IT WILL BE DEFINEED
BY AN IMAGINARY LINE.

75
Everything we know, we learn
LIMITS
Through the body we feel
And the limit is the body itself

That heavy thing we have

to carry around that
narrows our possibility of
knowledge.

We have a Broken
relationship with reality
85
Is very easy to criticise
from a position of
privilege. The more
privilege one possess,
the more responsibility
one has. But no matter
what happens, we will
always be the biggest
loser of them all. Good
never wins.

86
87
Take time to use this figures to
draw the following:

88
Define people by gender, ethnicity,
age, class...

89
We have been defined. I wonder if this could have been
any other way? I mean, how am I supposed to know
who is who?

90
90
91
92
And most importantly, who are you?
Little by little, things fall into place, and this massive heist
called steriotype dilutes to how it should be, nothing.

93
STEREOTYPES
Stereotypes are a collateral example of the
consequences of assumption. Stereotypes could be
useful to approximate the unknown for the first time.
However, they could become dangerous for the culture
in question. A very reduced and digested version
of something that probably took years, decades,
millenniums to develop.

Today we are in need of quality information to

build clarity and to be able to create a world where
everyone is included in every moment. To have a
mutual understanding among different people.

94
Describe the person in the opposite page using this
stereotype search soup:

cultures).

b) Lack of knowledge (In Mexico, there is no official language
because there are many native tongues. Most of the people

Mexican Spanish, but Spanish nonetheless).

Exhibit C: “If you are from Africa, why are you white?”
Circle the right answer:
a) Insult
b) Lack of knowledge /Curiosity (Africa is not a country, is
continent composed of at least 54 very diverse countries.
Maybe it has to do with the western media. All along time
leaders of opinion have referred to Africa and never to the
individual countries that are very diverse).
c) Other: __________

Exhibit D: “Are you a boy or a girl?”
Circle the right answer:

do we assume that we are supposed to know all things you
know).

Circle the right answer:
a) Insult
b) Lack of knowledge (Some names are hard to pronounce

and an act of respect for the culture that receives you, a way
to adapt to a different place so people can relate with you
better).

A lemon is just an idea, not a real thing. We label things as absolute,
but nothing is absolute. Everything can be broken down, we see a
lemon, in reality is a mixture of molecules. This elements go beyond
existence and nonexistence of the human mind.

A Cup is to drink liquids; therefore, a cup stops being a cup when

is used to hold pencils, as a flower base or trap an unwanted insect
visitor. The word “cup” has failed to represent the object in all its
possibilities.
We are young until we are not. Because everything “is” until is not.
Reaffirming what something already is has a danger. A fallacy
repeated a thousand times becomes a fact, where new certainties
arise every day.
Language is a manufacturer concept created by reason for a
reason and nothing more.

101
We all have certain beliefs, and they come in a
certain order, in a certain time.

104
This is the story of Tiz and the bliss of everyday life.
When with all that thinking, you find yourself trapped
Is there a right way of doing things, or is it just a laugh?
105
Evil self is in the house, all the way from the underground!

I heard you are in trouble; you are in the middle of an ethical

trap. It's a trap, zap, nap, trap, you gotta get them out. You
can't be the woman of all causes, help people you don't know,
save their asses.
Don't cheat yourself too much my friend, I say what is best, is
best to think about yourself.
You crave for vengeance, violence and war for those who have
brought you down, hurt you and left you out.
Embrace those deep dark fantasies, make them a reality.

You need to be cruel to survive in a cruel world!

106
Don’t listen to that fool; this is the power of good!

Goodwill is ahead; you do the right thing. You are better than
that, don’t fall into that trap, show them who you really are.
Take into account all people at all time. Have the best
intention; the means never justify the act.
Be polite, be responsible.
Responsible for everything and everyone at all time. You know
what’s right.

The world goodness is in your hands!

107
You myths are driving me mad,
Can you just shut up!

I am who I am, get out of my mind...

108
109
QUEST
OF
INFINITY
112
Hey,
Don’t look so down!

I got some good news.
What If I told you, you can have everything...

Everything, I said.

You can have one or have them all, It’s up to
you.

The universe is the limit and that’s just the
start... You only need to aim, throw and take
your chance.

Oh, I almost forgot, there is a little risk, it’s nearly nothing, but I
guess I should say... You might fall into the void.

But it’s okay, try your chances, what is there to lose? Don’t tell
me you don’t feel tempted by the absolute. What is the void
anyway, as far as I ́m concerned, it is just a myth like any other
thing...

Go ahead and throw yourself at the sun, the sun of infinity.

113
114
ABSOLUTE
KNOWLEDGE

All of those longtime questions

The mysteries of life are now revealed to you
You now hold all the knowledge of everything ever made
Right there in your hands
For your own use and thrive
Why are we here?
What is there in life?
The cure for all diseases
To see the future, to see the past
To go beyond human understanding
And get to the light
How things are out there, without limits without measurements,
Everything lies in front of your eyes

However, do not forget, that A
absolute knowledge comes with absolute responsibility, use it
wisely

115
116
ETERNAL
LIFE

No matter how dark things can get, you will always be okay
The ultimate survivor

Pull a heist, the maddest of all ideas
The things that you were never allowed to try
There is no such thing as death
Like a god, you will remain,
But when we are all gone
And you get to stay,
What would you do?
Are you ready for what is ahead?

However, do not forget, that eternal life comes with eternal responsibility, use
it wisely

117
118
TRUE
FREEDOM
You thought we were free
But now you have a gift,
And you can see,
We are all trapped in a cage
And you are out there, free
Take a moment to think what you can do with all
this freedom
Anything you like
The only limit is your imagination
Want to fly?
Or breath under water?
Truly anything in the universe
Free to act
Free to feel
Free to think
Free to thrive

However, do not forget, that True Freedom comes
with true responsibility, use it wisely

119
120
ABUNDANCE
OF LOVE
Because we all want to be loved
We are all in need of company, tenderness and
support
And now all love is yours
You will never be lonely
Because everyone loves you
Everyone needs you
For better or worse, just as you are. Acceptance
and care is all you ́ll ever receive, so go ahead
and embrace your destiny.
Things are just starting for you dear friend

However, do not forget, that abundance of love

comes with abundant responsibility, use it wisely

121
122
INFINITY

Why conform to one single thing

When you can have it all
All, forever and ever
You are now becoming a God
Can you feel it?
Can you see it?
This is how it feels to be almighty
You are now the king of all things ever created

However, do not forget, that infinity comes with immense responsibility, you
are now responsible for all among all, the future of all life forms is in your
hands.

123
124
125
126
VOID

Oh no!
It is true...

Like a spiral you fall into the void with all the most
terrible things.

127
128
And no...

We can’t have it all, because having it all is never enough.
Nothing is ever enough.
And we end up forever seeking eternal desire that will never be achieved.

We are going backwards
And we are going sideways
Retreat.

And then we die, and nothing matters, and nothing changes. We are who we
were decades ago.

Seeking absolute desire is accepting and assuming the possibility of falling
into the void. And we fall, finding familiarity in darkness. Making it almost too
familiar, until the fall becomes everything we ever knew, everything we ever
had.

The fall becomes the story of our lives.

I feel guilty, always,
on behalf of all and for all.
133
THE IMPORTANCE OF MISTAKES
- A constant remind us that we are
not perfect, therefore there is much to
improve.

- We make sure what that limit “is” and

then we can overcome that limit.

- Sometimes the product of a mistake is

more precious than the original.

134
THE WORLD IS TWISTED
Something inside us must be very wrong.
Nice never wins, not once, and when you
think it does, it comes is just too late, and
usually, a lot is lost by that point.
