These are shown below each lot in this sale. All amounts shown are in Euro. The figures shown are provided merely as a guide to prospective purchasers.
They are approximate prices which are expected, are not definitive and are subject to revision.

2. Paddle Bidding
All intending purchasers must register for a paddle number before the auction. Please allow time for registration. Potential purchasers are recommended
to register on viewing days.

3. Payment, Delivery and Purchasers Premium


Wednesday 18th June 2008, 10.00am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm -5.00pm. Under no circumstances will delivery of purchases be given whilst the auction is in
progress. All purchases must be paid for and removed from the premises not later than 5pm on Wednesday 18th June 2008. Auctioneers commission on
purchasers is charged at the rate of 15% (exclusive of VAT). Terms: Strictly cash, bankers draft or cheque vouched to the satisfaction of the auctioneers,
prior to sale. Purchasers wishing to pay by credit card (Visa & Mastercard) may do so, however, it should be noted that such payments will be subject to
an administrative fee of 1.85% on the invoice total. American Express is subject to a charge of 3.65% on the invoice total. Please contact our accounts

Born in Lancashire, England, Sean Molloy moved


to Ireland in the early 70s. He began painting in
his late teens and started exhibiting during the late
80s. In 1989 some of his watercolours were pub-
lished as limited edition prints by Matthew Ryan
(Thurles). During the early 90s, Sean received
private commissions from the UK and Ireland.
Towards the end of the decade, he returned to the
UK where, following a course at the Slade School,
he studied painting in the University of Brighton
and the Glasgow School of Art. Since 2001, he
has been based in Ireland and has exhibited with
several galleries, including the Kings Road Gal-
lery in London and the Solomon Gallery, Dublin.

Dame Elisabeth Frink was born in Thurlow, Suffolk in 1930. Having


studied at The Guildford School of Art and Chelsea School of Art,
where she was taught by Bernard Meadows, she went on to teach at
St Martins School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London.
Elisabeth Frink was one of Britains leading post war sculptors and her
achievments were recognised in 1969 when she was awarded a CBE
and again in 1982 when she was made a Dame of the British Empire.
The following four prints come from the Children of
the Gods series. They depict stories from Greek mythol-
ogy such as the tragedy of Laos and Oedipus killing his fa-
ther and the tale of Jason & the Golden Fleece.

Louise Newman began her studies at San Jose State University, California. After returning to Ireland in 1992 she went on to receive
a National Diploma and Degree in Fine Art from I.A.D.T. She has exhibited her work at venues nationwide including the
Galway Arts Centre, West Cork Arts Centre and the Hallward Gallery. She appeared on R.T.E. Open House in collaboration
with The Irish Arts Review in The Emerging Artist of the Year Competition 2004 and her work was highlighted at the Eigse Carlow
Arts Festival in 2005. Her work is in the collections of the Ministry of Defence, the European Patent Office Munich, Irish Credit Unions
and most recently her work was purchased by the Bank of Ireland.

DEFINITIONS AND GENERAL CONDITIONS In the opinion of the Auctioneer probably a work of the artist.

Definitions ‘Studio of/Workshop of ’


In the opinion of the Auctioneer a work executed in the studio of the artist and possibly under his supervision.
1. In these conditions the following words and expressions shall have the following meanings:

‘Auctioneer’ – James Adam & Sons. ‘Circle of ’;


In the opinion of the Auctioneer a work of the period of the artist and showing his influence.
‘Auctioneer’s Commission’ – The commission payable to the Auctioneer by the buyer and seller as specified in conditions 13
and 25. ‘Follower of ’;
In the opinion of the Auctioneer a work executed in the artist’s style yet not necessarily by a pupil.
‘Catalogue’ – Any advertisement, brochure, estimate, price list or other publication.
‘Manner of ’;
‘Forgery’ – A Lot which was made with the intention of deceiving with regard to authorship, culture, source, origin, date, age or In the opinion of the Auctioneer a work executed in artist’s style but of a later date.

‘Proceeds of Sale’ – The net amount due to the seller being the Hammer Price of the Lot after deducting the Auctioneer’s
Commission thereon under condition 25 the seller’s contribution towards insurance under condition 26, such VAT as is charge-
