Motivation to start the business:
From starting stage, he has the desire to start his own
business and he wants to be an entrepreneur and stand up
on his own legs. Even though he did fail in doing other
business initially, and he took it as a challenge and motivate
himself to get success. Main thing about him is he motivated
himself to succeed.

Starting of the business:


He started business with his own cash of initial capital of
20000 to get the permission from the Sangam dairy to set up
the milk parlour and also, he has taken from the local officials
start the business.
Starting troubles faced by him:
He was new to the area and also, he doesn’t know anyone.
To market his milk products to them was so difficult and first
day of the business he sold 1 milk product and almost it
continued like this for the initial 1 year for him to people to
recognise and starting sell products in large quantity and to
increase the sales of the business.

Marketing of his Products:


From the starting of the business kept on communicate with
the locals and publicise about the products he sell, and ask
them to come to his shop for the milk products. He also went
door to door for the marketing of the product and to give his
own publicity about the business and products.

Hands on Experience:
He has already experience in the business, which he started
same business at his home before starting here, And he
knows what it takes to increase the sales of the business and
how to improve it sales.

Targeting customers:
The targeting customers for this business almost all of them
from individual homes to apartments people, hospitals, tea
hotels, old age homes, General stores, sweet shops, Bakeries,
cool drink shops, milk vendors.

Handling customers:
As far as this business in concern in time delivery of the
products is one of the main thing to satisfy the customers.
Almost the 90% of the customer satisfaction depends on that
one and also maintain the regularity in coming and delivering
of the products. Price of the products play very little as far as
this business in concern as price is not a big problem,
Maintaining of the right stock and deliver whenever they
want and how many they want at that time.

Daily operations:
Daily activities of the business is to get right amount stock
from the Dairy and get available stock to the all customers
and deliver to them at the right time, if there is any less stock
availability buy from another parlour to satisfy the
customer’s needs.

How he mountain’s the right amount stock:


Maintaining of right amount of stock for that day is very
difficult thing we always fell short initially and he started
using some speculation methods and go for the order.
Maintaining of stock mainly depends on that day sales and
speculation of tomorrow’s sale. Especially in festival season
and other holiday season like summer is very to maintain
right stock, so we always go right amount of stock for the
everyday depends upon its importunacy.

Timings of the business:


The timings of the business are starts from the morning 3 am
and till morning 11 am and in afternoon it starts from 2 pm
to the 8 pm.

Kind of products he sell:


All the milk products such as milk, curd, butter milk, sweets,
and others idli batter, Dosa batter, and also Rise.

Number of employees:
As far as the number of people work in the business is about
4 along with him. The Qualification required is to basic
calculations and also know the riding of bicycle and bike, and
know to make decent communication with the customers.
Rise business:
He started rise business from 2010. He made his milk
customers into his rise business also and it made easy for him
to grow the rise business very rapidly. He approached the
customers and told them about the business, from there the
business picked up.

Maintaining of accounts:
He maintains records of all the transactions occur on that day
mainly credit transactions and transactions which are really
big in terms of cash, which is like Book Keeping, It helps him
to collect the money from the debtors very easily, and he can
rewind the how many transactions occur on that day.

Challenges from the competitors:


In this business the main challenges come from the
competitors from is to delivering of products. If you don’t
deliver the product at right time the customer will go to the
competitor and you may loss the deal with them. If you
maintain right time of delivery and right stock delivery to
them, there’s no problem from the competitors. Other things
likes of price plays very little role, because it is necessary
product to everyone.
Future plans:
His future plans are to introduce some other new products to
his customers. And also find new customers to deliver such
as hotels, hospitals and other shops.

Problems he face while doing business:


There are number of problems like collection of bad debts
from customers. And another big problem is weather in
winter season we face problem of fogging the early
mornings, In rainy season when it rains heavy it is very
difficult deliver the products.

What I learned from him :


1. I worked under him for almost 11 years from October
2006 to the May 2017. I learned so many things under
him while I was working, likes first and foremost thing
how to communicate with the customers in right way
that they can understand. Very easily how to convince
the customer to get the right response from them
2. How to work hard, tirelessly like he wakes up at 1.30 am
in the morning for the work, And he works till afternoon
and then again starts 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm. So much to
sacrifice and there won’t be any kind of leaves or
holidays and work will be there for the 365 days.

3. I learned how to go to the new customers to get the


orders from them to deliver products. Especially new
hotels, new shops, new houses.

4. How to maintain the cash flow and collection of bad


debts from the customers

5. Introduction of new products and market them


efficiently to his customers

6. How to treat the employees and get the best out of


them

7. If there is any problem with the customers arise, how to


solve it and convince them.

8. How to create a good environment to work. He makes it


comfortable to work.

9. How to stand up to the challenges such as to improve


the sales, attracting new customers.
Conclusion
I learned a lot from him, from the day I joined for work. He is
one of my role model and mainly I learned how to
communicate with others is one of the main thing. In future I
want to start my own business like him. The experience that I
got from him will help a lot in future. Main speciality about
him is about sticking to the work even though you face so
many so problems. I feel it’s great to work under him and I
thank him for cooperating for this project.
