BIOMETRIC

SYSTEM USE

Isleworth & Syon School uses a biometric data system, for example in the school canteen.

The system we use is called BioStore, whereby students and staff have their fingerprint image registered onto
the school system. The fingerprint images cannot be used by any other source for identification purposes, as the
system uses an image of the fingerprint to create a mathematical algorithm (similar to a bar code), and then
discards the fingerprint. Only the numbers remain and these cannot be transformed back into a fingerprint image.
Please be aware that the information contained within the system will only be used for school purposes and will
not be made available to any other party.

Your son/ward will be registered for this process during the Induction Day on Tuesday 2 July 2019. If you do not
wish your child to be registered, you should notify the school in writing before Friday 28 June 2019. In order to
comply with Government legislation, we must have your written permission for your son/ward’s biometric data to
be stored.

Please note: in accepting a place for your son/ward at Isleworth & Syon School, you are agreeing to support the
school and its policies. The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) are the sole arbiters of acceptable standards in all
cases.

Complete the form below to confirm your agreement. By agreeing to this policy, you:

• confirm that you have read and discussed the above information with your son/ward;
• give permission for the school to use the Biometric system for your son/ward;
• understand that the information contained within the system will only be used for school purposes and
will not be made available to any other party
