Qualifications :
1. Director of Instruction Essential :

(i) Doctoral degree in relevant subject including relevant basic sciences.


(ii) Minimum 15 years experience of teaching/research/extension education in the
concerned discipline in the rank of Assistant Professor or above, out of
which at least 5 years experience as Professor/Principal Scientist in the pay
scale of 16,400-22,400/- (Pre-revised) or in an equivalent position.
(iii) Evidence of contribution to research/teaching/extension education as
supported by published work/innovation.

Desirable :

(i) Experience in research management with evidence of scientific leadership,


vision/perspective on agricultural research.

2. Registrar Essential :

(i) A Post-graduate degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade and
(ii) At least 15 years experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of 7000/-
and above or with 8 years of service in the AGP of 8000/- and above
including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational
administration.
Or
Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of
higher education
Or
Fifteen years administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy
Registrar or an equivalent post.

3. Deputy Registrar Essential :


(Academic)
(i) A Post Graduate degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
(ii) 9 years experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of 6000/- and above
with experience in educational administration.
Or
Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions
of higher education
Or
5 years of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an
equivalent post.
4. Sports Officer Essential :
(i) A master’s degree in physical education or master’s degree in sports
science with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale
wherever grading system is followed) with a consistently good academic
record.
(ii) Record of having represented the university/college at the inter-
university/inter-collegiate competitions or the State and/or national
championships.
(iii) Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC
or any other agency approved by the UGC.
(iv) Passed the physical fitness test conducted in accordance with these
Regulations.

i) Doctoral degree in the field of Soil Science & Agril. Chemistry or Agronomy or Soil Water

Research System provided 3 years experience is as Associate Professor/Senior Scientist 12,000 –
18,300/- (pre-revised) or in an equivalent position.
(iii) Evidence of contribution to research/teaching/extension education as supported by published
work/innovations.
Desirable :
(iv) Adequate experience of teaching and guiding PG students.
(v) Adequate experience of research management and administration.

(b) School of Crop Improvement

Essential :

i) Doctoral degree in the relevant discipline viz. Plant Breeding & Genetics or Plant Biotechnology or
Molecular Biology including relevant basic sciences.

7. Assistant Professor
Essential:
(i) Master’s degree in relevant subject including relevant basic sciences.
(ii) National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the ICAR/ASRB/UGC/CSIR. For Electronics Engg. &
Instrumentation and Computer Engineering NET qualification is exempted.
(iii) For Veterinary discipline, candidate must possess recognized Veterinary Qualification included in
First and Second Schedule of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 and Registered with State
Veterinary Council/Veterinary Council of India (Relaxable in Bio-Chemistry, Animal Breeding &
Genetics, Livestock Production & Management)
Desirable :
Experience of teaching UG/PG students.

8. Student Welfare Officer


Essential:
(i) Masters Degree in any subject from relevant Faculty including relevant basic sciences.
(ii) National Eligibility Test (NET) in the relevant subject conducted by the ICAR/ASRB/UGC/CSIR.

Desirable :
Proficiency in games & sports and Cultural Activities as evidenced by certificates of participation in
Inter-university/state/national level competition.

Scale of Pay :

Director of Instruction : 37400-67000 with AGP of 10000/- (The pay of a directly recruited
Professor shall be fixed at a stage not below 40890/-)
Registrar : 37400-67000 with Grade Pay of 10000/- (The pay of a directly recruited
Registrar shall be fixed at a stage not below 40890/-)
Chairman/Professor : 37400-67000 with AGP of 10000/- (The pay of a directly recruited
Professor shall be fixed at a stage not below 40890/-)
Dy. Registrar (Academic) : 15600-39100 with Grade pay of 7600. After completion of 5 years of
service they will be placed in the pay Band of 37400-67000 with Grade
Pay of 8700/-
Assistant Professor : 15600-39100/- with AGP of 6000/-
Student Welfare Officer : 15600-39100/- with AGP of 6000/-
Sports Officer : 15600-39100/- with Grade Pay of 5400/-

Note :-

1. Application must be accompanied by attested copies of Mark Sheets, Certificates, Experience


certificates etc. and the details of research publication, if any, in support of eligibility.
2. Candidates already in service should submit their applications through proper channel. Candidates
anticipating delay in through proper channel application, may forward the application directly with
required application fee. However, the candidate will have to produce No Objection Certificate at the
time of interview, failing which such candidates will not be allowed to appear in the interview and will
not be reimbursed fare.
3. Applications, which are incomplete/not on the prescribed form/received after the due date/received
without the prescribed application fee shall not be considered. The University shall not be responsible
for any postal delay or loss in transit.
4. The University has the right to fill or not to fill up any post and also to increase or decrease the number
of posts.
5. Only the short listed candidates will be called for interview at their own costs. However, the University
shall reimburse second sleeper class rail fare by the shortest route or actual bus fare on production of
tickets.
6. 3% of the posts are reserved for physical challenged candidates as per rules.
7. Candidates fulfilling the minimum requirement may also be considered for the post of Professor on
deputation basis.
8. Persons who have not attained the age of superannuation i.e. 65 years and are re-employed in Central
Agricultural University, Imphal or any other organisation may also apply.
9. For the post of Assistant Professor the maximum age limit is 35 years as on the last date of submission
of application form.
10. The age of superannuation of teachers in CAU is 65 years.
11. Payment of prescribed fee for women candidates is exempted. However, fees for application form will
be charged.
