Introduction of Marketing:-

The word Marketing is derived from the word Market. So “What is Market?”
The market is the place where the buyers and sellers come together for the exchange of
goods or for trade. The people purchase the good which is worth of their hard earned
money and can satisfy their needs and desire.

Marketing is basically your interaction with your consumer. This interaction with
your consumer is done so that you get the consumer to purchase your product or service.
Basically that is what marketing is all about, getting the consumer to purchase your
product or service!

“The marketing is to create a demand for a existing product and then satisfy the
demand.”

Marketing is consisting of 3 steps:

 Inform

 Aware

 Educate

Inform that there is a certain product exists.

Aware the people they are having the need for the product.

Educate the people how to use the product.

Historical Background:-

TVS Motors

TVS Motor Company is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India and
is among the world's top ten. It is the flagship company of the parent TVS Group
employing over 40,000 people with an estimated 15 million customers.[3] It manufactures
motorcycles, scooters, mopeds and auto rickshaws. It is India's only two-wheeler
company to have won the Deming Prize awarded for commitment to quality control,
received in 2002.

When TVS Motor was founded in 1978, its parent TVS Group, founded by T. V.
Sundaram Iyengar had already been in existence for 67 years. Over the years TVS Motor
has grown to be the largest in the group, both in terms of size and turnover, with four
state of the art manufacturing plants in Hosur, Mysore and Nalagarh in India and
Karawang in Indonesia. TVS Motor is credited with many innovations in the Indian
automobile industry, notable among them being the introduction of India's first two-
seater moped, the TVS 50cc. The company became the leader in its category of sub
100 cc mopeds, having sold 7 million units. It also introduced the TVS Scooty, which is
India's second largest brand in the scooterette segment.

Hero Honda Motors

world for eight consecutive years. The company had a market share of 41.35% in the year
2008-2009 and over a 25 year span it has crossed the 15 million unit milestone. Hero
Honda sells more two wheelers than the second, third and fourth placed two-wheeler
companies put together.

Hero Honda, based in Delhi, India is a joint venture between the Hero Group of
India and Honda of Japan. It has been referred to as the world's biggest manufacturer of
2-wheeled motorized vehicles since 2001, when it produced 1.3 million motorbikes in a
single year. During the fiscal year 2008-09, the company has sold 3.28 million bikes and
the net profit of the company stood at Rs. 1281.7 crore, up 32% from the previous fiscal
year.

The company's most popular model is the Hero Honda's Splendor, which is the
world's largest-selling motorcycle, selling more than one million units per year.

“Hero” is the brand name used by the Munjal brothers for their flagship company
Hero Cycles Ltd. A joint venture between the Hero Group and Honda Motor Company
was established in 1984 as the Hero Honda company, India.

During the 1980s, the company introduced motorcycles that were popular in India
for their fuel economy and low cost.
