Wy ANeathewn Neande RAVE Fly Feandeion February 24, 2019 ‘To Whom It May Concern, Tam writing this letter on behalf of Leila Dean, Kassidy Clark, and Samantha Boesen, AACT students who chose The Northern Nevada RAVE Femily Foundation as their organization to help this year. RAVE is a nonprofit 501c (3) organization that provides respite care to families caring for children with special needs, and those in the foster care system. Leila, Kassidy, and Samantha made a huge and lasting impact on our organization. ‘When I first met with Leila, Kassidy, and Samantha I could see their determination, compassion, and need to make a difference in our community. They showed up ready to make an impact with many creative ideas and suggestions on how they could help. With little direction, this team took a small project into one that impacted over 22 families and 44 children with special needs. Leila, Kassidy, and Samantha set up a coat drive to help the families that attend RAVE. They contacted almost every school in Washoe County, and if they received a no or hit a bump in the road, they didn’t let it stop them. They persisted and were determined to get coats and clothes. They arrived with over 7 giant bags full of clothes and coats. Helping 44 children stay warm this winter and taking stress off of 22 families because their children now had something to wear this winter. Leila, Kassidy, and Samantha didn’t stop there. They also set up a GoFund me fundraiser to help our organization, already raising over $120; going above and beyond what we had originally discussed at the beginning of the year. These girls always had a positive attitude, asked what else they could do to help, and truly showed their compassion with everything they did for our organization. We are extremely grateful this group of wonderful young women chose to help out RAVE. Each of them will accomplish and excel at any goal they set for themselves. Even though the time I spent with them was short, I could tell that they will each have a bright future and will also make an impactful difference in our community.
