service program as long as the outcomes of the
program reflect the competencies outlined in the
Oklahoma Learner Outcomes adopted by the
State Board of Education

assessment in GSS

4. The student must complete a study of and pass


an examination on the provisions and principles of
the United States Constitution, the Declaration of
Independence, the Federalist papers, and
American institutions and ideals. This instruction
shall be given for a period of at least one year, or
its equivalent, either within the required U.S.
History course and/or within another course using
a suitable text recommended by the State
Superintendent of Education and approved by the
State Board of Education
