Daily Promises of God

for educators Ephesians 1:13-14

NIV - And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel
of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy
Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are
God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

RSV - In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and
have believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, which is the guarantee of our
inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

KJV - In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession,

unto the praise of his glory.

LB - And because of what Christ did, all you others too, who heard the Good News about how
to be saved, and trusted Christ, were marked as belonging to Christ by the Holy Spirit, who

long ago had been promised to all of us Christians. His presence within us is God’s guarantee
that he really will give us all that he promised; and the Spirit’s seal upon us means that God
has already purchased us and that he guarantees to bring us to himself. This is just one more
reason for us to praise our glorious God.

Note to the educator

Did you ever think of yourself as being sealed with the promised Holy Spirit? It is the guarantee
or our inheritance. We believe because He is a God of the Ultimate Promise of eternal life. Take

heart Christian educator. You are signed, sealed and delivered. You are purchased, promised and
provided for. Look at today through the lens of eternity. Look at each of those students you serve
to see His image. Look today at your colleagues and treasure them as His. Pray for them all that
they too someday will know Him as we do and become part of the great family of God.

1:16 PM prayer
Please pray that we show God’s love to the student that is hard to love.
