Reflections upon the book “ Pondering ” by Shahid Dastghaib

Worldly Progression
& Spiritual Regression
Dear reader, those who fail are two types: Those who thought, but didn’t do, and those who did, but didn’t think. Do you agree? Please think deeply of this holy verse from the Quran1.

Shahid Dastghaib2 in his book ‘Pondering’3 says: They only know the palpable life of this world, and are oblivious of the Hereafter. Aren’t most people today of this type? All their knowledge goes back to this materialistic life, and definitely they have done a fantastic progress in it. For example, agriculture, afforestation & botany have truly reached perfection level. Medicine, surgery, disease diagnosing methods and curing human body, have reached to such a level that they do surgery for a heart or can replace it. As for the industrial knowledge, inventions and providing means of life, they have discovered things that are unbelievable and wouldn’t cross their minds before. To a degree that they passed the limits of earth and harnessed the space and went 322000km away from the moon, but unfortunately, with all the knowledge that they have gained about this worldly life, they aren’t sure about its origins and creator. Although many researchers have discovered that Earth has an ending term and life period, they don’t realize this life will actually end. Researchers also have said: "Our Solar System is in its old age.” Not only that, death of individuals is one of the clearest matters that show nobody is here forever, yet this doesn’t affect their heart at all, to make them think of life after death.”

The Holy Qur'an is the central religious text of Islam. Muslims believe the Qur’an is the book of Divine guidance and direction for mankind, and consider the original Arabic text the final revelation of Allah (God).
