1) The government thinks that they have bigger priorities than the condition of one city, opposed to
other things.
2) The demographics in Flint, Michigan can make them be subject to biases and discrimination.
3) The governor originally wanted to save money by changing their water source and is reluctant to
change it back.
4) Health risks, including lead poisoning especially in children, caused those not directly involved
more inclined to help and go against the Senator and his choice
5) If not for the citizen’s responses and criticism, the officials (excluding the EPA) would not have
done much to change the situation.
