INSTRUCTIONS:

Show all necessary working.

All grade ten (10) classes are to complete Section A.

Grades ten (10) Arts, Business and Science are to complete Section B.

Grade ten (10) Technology – Agriculture alone will answer Section C.

Approximate time to complete this paper 2 is 2 hours.

Graph paper will be provided for question 2 in Section B.

All students must have their own Geometry Sets.

1. The diagram below, not drawn to scale, shows the cross-section of a prism in the shape of a

sector of a circle, centre O, and radius 3.5 cm. The angle at the centre is 2700. Take 𝜋 as .

Calculate:

(A) the length of the circumference of the circle 2 MARKS

(D) the area of the circle 2 MARKS

2. Using a pencil, a ruler and a pair of compasses only,

(A) Construct accurately, the triangle ABC shown below;

(B) Complete the diagram to show the kite, ABCD, in which AD = 5 cm. 3 MARKS

(C) Measure and state the lengths of the diagonals BD and AC. 2 MARKS

SECTION B – STATISTICS & ALGEBRA

(A) Simplify the following algebraic expression:
