Rockville, MD - October 25, 2010 -- Coester Appraisal Group, a nationwide apprai
sal management company, has announced that it will be hosting an online educatio
nal webinar training session on lender requirements mandated in the Dodd–Frank Wal
l Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act that was signed into law by Presiden
t Obama in July 2010. The webinar, which is part of a series of online education
al programs hosted by Coester Appraisal Group, is complimentary and scheduled fo
r November 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM EDT. All lenders are welcome to attend. Registrat
ion is mandatory.
Over 132 pages of the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act ar
e dedicated to appraisal related issues. Among the provisions are fiduciary stan
dards, lender compensation, licensing requirements, disclosure and documentation
requirements, new deadlines, and many others. The lender education session will
address the some of the most important issues pertaining to lenders within the
bill and will be hosted by a seasoned mortgage and real estate trainer with thor
ough knowledge and expertise of the mortgage requirements in the Dodd-Frank Act.
“The Dodd-Frank Act is extensive—there are a lot of new requirements and several of
them are vague and hard to interpret,” said Brian Coester, CEO of Coester Appraisa
l Group. “The general feedback I’m getting from lenders is that they’re either confuse
d or overwhelmed by the mass quantity of detail and information in the bill. Wit
h the increasing amount of pressure being put on lenders these days, they’re hungr
y for answers and explanations. This webinar will address as many of those issue
s as we can cover in 45 minutes.”
Coester Appraisal Group’s series of educational programs has included sessions on
how to submit appraisal value reconsiderations and understanding desktop apprais
als. Over 400 mortgage professionals attended the value reconsiderations event o
n October 20, 2010 and nearly 2,000 have registered for the November 2, 2010 sem
inar on desktop appraisals.
“Coester Appraisal Group has been in business for over 30 years and we’ve always had
a commitment to going the extra mile and helping our customers achieve success,”
said Coester. “Our educational seminars are just an extension of that. The more ed
ucated lenders are, the better and safer their loans will be. That’s important for
them to achieve success and maintain longevity in the business, and it’s also a h
uge benefit for the borrower, the housing industry and the overall economy.”
