UNICEF, the world s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Chief, Innovation at the P-5 level for a 12-month Temporary Appointment in the Supply Division s Director s Office. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Under the guidance of the Deputy Director, support the Director s Office on innovation strategies for products, services, processes and concepts to solve essential problems for children and to reach MDGs. Particular focus on establishing and maintaining collaboration and frameworks w technical counterparts. The ith Chief, Innovation will provide support to encourage innovation in UNICEF Supply Division and beyond, and manage the work planned to embed innovation into UNICEF SD work culture. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinate and manage the UNICEF SD activities and workplan in innovation, and link with other parts of UNICEF and external partners for coordination of their engagement to investing in product research for children . 2. Responsible for implementing the tools, processe and culture to help each s UNICEF SD centre record and evaluate ideas and move the best ones forward. This work includes the running of an advisory board on innovation. 3. Engage in reviewing, applying and monitoring funds and other resources to nurture great ideas and to provide some assistance to teams within the organization. 4. Report on an innovation pipeline, consisting of ideas that relate to products, and processes, and services, to the senior management team . QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: Education: Advanced University degree in business administration, marketing or any related field.

Work Experience: Minimum ten years progressively responsible professional work experience in Innovation, Supply Chain and Marketing. Excellent knowledge ofinnovation agenda and possesses a track record of work with business to encourage the takeup of innovation funding and support.
