teaching intern. Let him/her read this and request him/her to sign your letter.

A Letter to my Cooperating Teacher

First of all, I sincerely thank you for your warm welcome on the first day of my internship
here in your classroom. I observe that you are very close and thoughtful towards your pupils
despite their behavior. I adore the way you interact with your pupils. All the classroom rules and
daily routines established were practiced actively. I hope I can incorporate some of your teaching
strategies and techniques especially how you handle student’s behavior. I am glad to be your

Desired Learning Outcomes

 Identify the needs, strength, interest and experiences of my learners

 Demonstrate knowledge and understandings of differentiated teaching to suit learners;

Performance Task 2 There are different learners based on learning modalities. They are
auditory, visual and tactile learners. Cite application on how you can
stimulate their strengths, needs and experiences based on their
learning modalities.
Types of Learners based on Learning How shall I stimulate learning through
Modalities their learning modalities?

Visual

I will use visual aids like pictures, charts,

diagrams, or maps during my class and I
will avoid activities that rely on rote
memorization. Furthermore, I will
group visual learners together for
collaborative learning activities.

Auditory

The best way to stimulate learning and

communication in an auditory learner is
through discussion, group chat and in the
lecture hall. Oral recitations and exams
might help my students, or dication and
reciting aloud what they have read or
heard during classes.

Tactile

For those students who learn best when

touching or manipulating objects, I will
use an abacus for math calculations,
interacting with a historical diorama, or
even sorting sedimentary, igneous and
metamorphic rocks in my science class
for example.
My Learning Artifacts

Using Differentiated Instruction in Improving the Academic Performance of

Students in Filipino Language

Ma. Rita R. Aranda and Joel L. Zamora

Abstract

Student diversity inside the classroom challenges educators to create

an environment focused on individual learning. Differentiated instruction
based on different learning styles of each student can facilitate individual
learning. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of
differentiated instruction in the academic performance of grade ten
students in Filipino subject. In this study, quasi-experimental design was
used to determine the effectiveness of differentiated instruction in terms of
improving the academic performance of the students. The participants
were purposively chosen for the control and experimental group,
respectively. The learning styles of the students were identified using the
Grasha-Riechmann Student Learning Style Scale which served as the basis
for designing differentiated activities in the Filipino subject. The
experimental group received differentiated instruction for two months
while the control group received traditional teaching instruction. The
results revealed that the academic performance of the students in the
experimental group is higher compared to the control group. This study
concludes that differentiated instruction based on different learning styles
was effective in teaching the Filipino subject to grade ten students.
