SURPRISE TO GET
ITS FIRST HOSPITAL
The city of Surprise is about to gain its
first hospital.
Abrazo Community Health Network
plans to build a $15 million small-scale
hospital at 16815 W. Bell Road, employing
50 full-time equivalent clinical and
support staff.
With Adolfson & Peterson Construction
serving as general contractor, the
32,500-square-foot facility is expected
to open in spring 2020. E4H Architects
handled design for the project.
The hospital will offer a 24-hour
emergency department as well as offer
minor surgery, diagnostic imaging,
laboratory, pharmacy and other
outpatient services.
The medical facility in Surprise will be
similar to one already under construction
at 5750 E. Baseline Road in Mesa.
The same team of Adolfson and E4H
Architects also is working on that
$15 million project, which is expected to
