Progress Test – Pre-Intermediate level

The purpose of this mini-interview (5 minutes) is to gauge the student’s level of English, as well as his/her progress
during the first period of learning the language.

Part 1: Read aloud the passage to the teacher
I have started to look at my kitchen in a new way after a recent visit from Michael Fenton. The 29-
year-old personal trainer has developed an exercise program for people who haven't got time to go
to the gym. Michael explained to me, as I was trying to serve the children's breakfast and wash up at
the same time, that it's just a question of imagination. He decided to use my kitchen as a gym, as this
is where I spend most of my time.

Part 2: The teacher chooses one of the 3 question packs to ask each
