EVENT TICKET BOOKING SYSTEM

1. INTRODUCTION
Now a day’s, the events such as festivals, wedding etc. have become a core part of life
which has resulted in event planning and Management Company to rise. With the
customers and events increasing at larger rate, it is difficult to manage using traditional
system using spread sheets, traditional database and more. In order to overcome the
drawbacks of traditional Event Ticket Booking System, a new Smart Event Ticket
Booking System is introduced. With the help of this technology, the distance between
customer and Merchant will reduced with the Smart Web access. Event ticket booking
system is the application of ticket management to the creation and development of events
such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts, or conventions.

The event industry now includes events of all sizes from the Olympics down to business
breakfast meetings. Many industries, charitable organizations, and interest groups hold
events in order to market themselves build business relationships, raise money, or
celebrate achievement. The proposed software is an online event ticket booking system
software project that serves the functionality of an Event Ticket Booking by a customer.

There are three users Admin, Merchant and customers. The system allows only registered
Merchants to login and create event and tickets, new merchant are allowed to register on
the application. The project provides most of the basic functionality required for an event.
It allows the Merchant to create an event by filling the following details such as event
types, event name, the date and time of event, place and the event banners. Merchant also
need to create tickets for the event. Once the Merchant enters an event type e.g.
(Marriage, Dance Show etc.), event name, the date and time of event, place and the event
banners, the Admin then may post the event details and ticket to the website to sell to
the customer.

1.1. General Overview of the Problem

All this data is logged in the database and the customer is given a receipt number for his
ticket booking. This data is then sent to the administrator (website owner) and they may
interact with the client as per his requirements and his contact data stored in the database.

1.4 Problem Definition

 Generally, in the existing system customer has no idea of which events are going on
and when they are taking place in our locality.
 Customers who need to book tickets for the events they need to visit the merchant’s
place. Existing system procedure is manual and traditional as it is pen and paper-
based.
 Once you lose the ticket of the event you have bought, you are screwed and you
have to buy ticket again, the event ticket buyer cannot get soft copy of his event
ticket.
 Merchant who wants to sell tickets for their event need to make physical contact
with the customer’s, and increases need for human resource.
