Unfortunately, Supt. Johnson is unavailable for an interview this week.

His schedule is
completely booked each day.

CPD makes every effort to ensure the validity and accuracy of all information that is used to
apply for and execute search warrants in every case. This information often times comes from
community sources and despite the vetting of material through surveillance, deconfliction,
affidavits, authentication of subject addresses and a review by a criminal court, errors can
occur and we take them very seriously.

Residents can file a claim by contacting 312.744.5650. A City Claims Notification will be
completed by CPD and forwarded to Department of Law, City Claims Unit.

The City of Chicago Claims Notification Program was developed to address accidental property
damages caused by the Chicago Police Department during official business. These claims can
include property-damage automobile accidents, accidental destruction of animals, damage
caused during the execution of search warrants, and similar occurrences.

For specific numbers of pending claims, please contact the Department of Law, City Claims
Unit
