ABOUT CLIENT
Pulau Bukom is an integrated oil and petrochemicals site with manufacturing
facilities for fuels, lubricant base oils and specialty chemicals.Bukom is the largest
wholly-owned Shell refinery globally in terms of crude distillation capacity (500,000
barrels per day). It is also home to a world-class Ethylene Cracker Complex (up to a
million tonnes per annum) and a Butadiene Extraction Unit (155,000 tonnes per
annum).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understanding and Compliance with Shell Safety Regulations and Procedures in

a Refinery.
• Installation, configuration and commissioning of Field Instruments like Pressure,
Flow, Level and temperature transmitters of different types and manufactures.
• Installation of Transmitter Manifolds, Impulse Tubings, Condensate Pots and
Packing Fill fluids.
• Installation and calibration of Condition monitoring instruments like Acceleration
probes, Axial Displacement, Radial Displacement and Speed Measuring Probes.
• Installation, calibration and commissioning of Control valves, ON-OFF Valves,
Valve Positioners, Limit Switches and I-P converters.
• Installation of Pneumatic components like Solenoids, Air Regulators, Volume
Boosters, Quick Exhausters, Lock up Relay, Volume tanks (Accumulators), Air Relief
Valves and Pilot Relief Valves.
• Installation of Pilot Ignitors and Flame scanners in the combustion equipments.
• Installation, commissioning and maintenance of Air Fire Detection systems, Gas

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Estimation/Selection – MTO/BOM of all Instrumentation components including

Temperature sensors, Pressure Sensors, Level Sensors, Analytical Sensors (pH, DO,
Conductivity Meters), Flow meters, VFD’s & Pneumatic components.
• Preparation and Reviewing of Detailed Engineering deliverables such as
Instrument Data Sheets, Loop diagrams, Instrument Index, Hook-up diagrams,
Cable schedules, Cause and effect philosophy & Wiring Schematics.
• Design, Installation, Commissioning of Electrical/Pneumatic Panel Enclosures.
• Selection/Estimation- MTO/BOM of Power Supplies, Terminal Blocks, Circuit
Breakers, Relays, Contactors, Wiring Accessories and all other Control Panel
components. Making Power calculations.
• Making I/O Calculations from the P&I Diagram, Preparing and Reviewing

Company: Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (CPCL) Under Franklin IME

Responsibilities:

• Checking Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P & ID).

• Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities like Field Transmitters Installation,
Calibration, loop checking & Functionality checking for HART instruments.
• Control valves, Gas detectors, Thermocouples & RTD Troubleshooting,
Maintenance and Calibration.
• Troubleshooting, Maintenance and Calibration of DP-type level transmitters (dry
