Describe how you would incorporate an Online Project/Collaboration Site/Publishing Opportunity in your
classroom:
Online projects in my classroom will be used for groups. Individual students can use the same sources to
create their projects as well. Collaboration sites allows for students to be able to work in the classroom on
different computers or at home. A combination of the online projects and collaboration sites can be used to
complete projects. For example, students can use a collaboration site to collect information and then use a
different website to create their final product.
When students publish their work, it helps to bring meaning to their learning. A use of all these aspects can
enhance the learning experience. While not ever assignment can include a collaboration component, it can be
used for a collaboration between multiple subjects and at the end of a unit.

What technologies would be required to implement this proposed learning activity in a classroom?
Different technology that would be used are computers, Ipads, and a variation of different apps and websites.
Depending on the students choice in publishing their final product students can either use an Ipad or a
computer. If students want to use a computer then they can use an ipad to take pictures and sent it to their
collaboration website.

Describe how the following features are addressed in this learning experience (note: all of them may not be
addressed in the project, but most should be if you are reaching a high LoTi Level).
a. Collaboration with peers, near-peers, mentors outside their classroom and often beyond their
school: This is addressed because students come together to create a project which is then published
outside the classroom on the wall for the school to see. Students creating a video will publish it on to
School Tube or Techer Tube.

b. Student-centered learning and knowledge creation (creating original data and or producing original
products as a result of engaging in a project): Other students will see their work and will take notes
from it.

c. Students publishing their original work to others who will use/care about their product: Students
can contact an expert in a field and ask them to review their work.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

This project will help students from all different sides of the Universal Design for Learning framework. There
will be different audio and visual stimuli. The project will represent the results in at least two different ways.
One will be on a poster and the other will be in the form of a video. Students will be given a rubric and a
check list of the things to get done in one day.

Lesson idea implementation and Internet Safety Policies:

To minimize risks to students and myself, remove fears by parents and administrations, and to follow
common internet safety standards, I will have accreditable websites posted on the classroom blog.
Having guided websites helps to keep students safe when using the internet.

Reflective Practice:
Since this will be a final lesson for a unit there will be no further extension. Students will be encouraged to
use whatever technology integration they feel will best represent their data.
