NARRATOR: Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a young prince lived in a shining castle.
Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was spoiled, selfish and unkind. One
winter’s night, an old beggar woman came to the castle and offered him a single rose in return
for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince sneered at the
gift and turned the old woman away, but she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for
beauty is found within. She had seen that there was no love in his heart, and as punishment she
transformed him into a hideous beast, and place a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived
there. If he could learn to love another and earn her love in return the spell would be broken. If
not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time. As the years passed, he fell into despair
and lost all hope, for who could ever learn to love a beast?

BELLE: Little town it’s a quite village

Everyday like the one before
Little town, full of little people
Waking up to say…..

TOWNSFOLK 1: Bonjour!
TOWNSFOLK 2: Bonjour!
TOWNSFOLK 3: Bonjour!
TOWNSFOLK 4: Bonjour!
TOWNSFOLK 5: Bonjour!

BELLE: There goes the baker with his tray like always
The same old bread and rolls to sell
Every morning just the same
Since the morning that we came
To this poor provincial town...

BAKER: Good morning, Belle!

(BELLE jumps over to the bakery)

BELLE: Morning monsieur!

BAKER: Where are you off to?

BELLE: The bookshop! I just finished the most wonderful story, about
a beanstalk and an ogre and...

BAKER: (Ignoring her) that’s nice...Marie, the baguettes! Hurry up!!

TOWNSFOLK: Look there she goes, that girl is so peculiar

I wonder if she’s feeling well
WOMAN 1: With a dreamy, far-off look

BARBER: And her nose stuck in a book

TOWNSFOLK: What a puzzle to the rest of us is Belle

BELLE: Oh! Isn't this amazing!

It's my favorite part because, you'll see!
Here's where she meets Prince Charming
But she won't discover that it's him 'til chapter three!

WOMAN 5: Look there she goes that girl is strange but special
A most peculiar mademoiselle!

MERCHANT: It’s a pity and a sin

She doesn’t quite fit in
Very different from the rest of us...

ALL: She's nothing like the rest of us

Yes different from the rest of us is Belle

Gaston: Stand aside! Make way. Bonjour Belle!

Belle: Bonjour Gaston (Belle walks away)

Gaston: Who does she thinks she is?

GASTON: Right from the moment when I met her, saw her
I said she's gorgeous and I fell
Here in town there's only she (BELLE walks by and away)
Who is beautiful as me
So I'm making plans to woo and marry Belle. Perfect!

CRONIES: No one's slick as Gaston, no one's quick as Gaston

No one's next as incredibly thick as Gaston

BIMBETTES: For there's no one as burly and brawny

GASTON: As you see I've got biceps to spare

OLD CRONIES: No one hits like Gaston, matches wits like Gaston

LEFOU: In a spitting match, nobody spits like Gaston!

GASTON: I'm especially good at expectorating! Ptooey!

ALL: Ten points for Gaston!

GASTON: When I was a lad I ate four dozen eggs
Every morning to help me get large!
And now that I'm grown, I eat five dozen eggs
So I'm roughly the size of a barge!

BELLE: I want adventure in the great wide somewhere

I want it more than I can tell
And for once it might be grand
To have someone understand
I want so much more than they've got planned

NARRATOR: It all got more adventure that even she in her wildest imagination could have
dreamed for she found herself being captive in the dark castle.

BEAST: Grrrrrrhhh… I am the master of this castle. She’ll never see me as anything
but a monster!! (growls while walking from here to there)

LUMIERE: Try to understand, Master. The poor girl has lost her father and her freedom
all in one day.

COGSWORTH: Need I remind you that your 21st birthday will be here soon?

BEAST: I know that!

LUMIERE: Perhaps she has come to break the spell

MRS. POT: Remember, you must learn to love another and let her love in return.

BEAST: I know

COGSWORTH: Then we might be all human again!

CHIP: A human again! Wow!

CHIP: Oh no!

BEAST: I thought I told you never to come here!!!

BELLE: (Come running slowly) I just want to find out…

BEAST: It is none of your business!!

BELLE: Please stop.

BEAST: You shouldn’t have come to the west wing!

BELLE: And you should learn how to control your temper.

BEAST: Ahhhmm… I can’t help it. I apologize. I’ve never felt this way before.

BELLE: There's something sweet

And almost kind
But he was mean
And he was coarse and unrefined.

But now he's dear

And so unsure,
I wonder why I didn't see it there before.

BEAST: She glanced this way

I thought I saw
And when we touched
She didn't shudder at my paw

No it can't be
I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before.

BELLE: New, and a bit alarming

Who'd have ever thought that this could be?
True, that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in him that I simply didn't see.

LUMIERE: Well who'd have thought?

MRS. POTTS: Well bless my soul.

COGSWORTH: And who'd have known?

MRS. POTTS: Well who indeed?

LUMIERE: And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?

MRS. POTTS: It's so peculiar

ALL: We'll wait and see a few days more

There may be something there that wasn't there before

COGSWORTH: Yes, perhaps there's something there that wasn't there before.

CHIP: What?

MRS. POTTS: There may be something there that wasn't there before.
CHIP: What's there, mama?

MRS. POTTS: SSShhhh…I'll tell you when you're older.

GASTON: Belle had to turn me down for the last time. No one says Nobody Gaston… rejected.
It’s more than I can bear! Publicly humiliated. I am disgraced! But I have a plan. Someone has to
protect our village. Kill the beast or he will kill your children! I say we kill the beast!

VILLAGERS: Kill him!

BELLE: No... (Crying) Beast?

BEAST: Belle, you came back

BELLE: Of course I came back. I couldn’t let them to this to you. I’m trying to warn you. This is
all my fault! (Crying)

BEAST: At least… I get to see you……..last…..time

BELLE: No we’re together now. I won’t let you die

BEAST: It’s… better this way (In his dying breath)

BELLE: No! No! Please! Please don’t leave me (crying) I love you….

(Belle step aside. Magic begins to wrap beast. Enchantress enters and lifted the curse.
Transformation happened)

BEAST: Belle, it’s me!

BELLE: It’s you!

(Holding hands with the smile on their faces as they turn around then hug each other. Song will
begin to play as they dances)
