I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr.Andrew Brown as a student in my Integrated Math 3 class, my Pre
Calculus Honors class and as my teacher assistant. During that time, I have found Andrew to be a hard working,
responsible young man who strives to be involved. He consistently completed all assigned work and routinely
scored high on assessments. He actively participated in group discussions and collaborative assignments where
he showed a tendency to assume the leadership role during those times. As my teacher assistant, he completed
all his assigned duties accurately and in a timely manner, and played a pivotal role in help keeping me organized
At a school wide level, Andrew has been a straight A student all of his academic career. He currently has
a 4.23 cumulative grade point average and is ranked 13th in his class. He also has chosen take multiple
advanced placement courses along with the accompanying AP tests. His future plan is to pursue his passion for
math by investigating a career in teaching mathematics.
Outside of academics, Andrew is very service oriented. He spent the last 3 years serving in the Spirit of
Christmas program which is a program that hands out care packages for the those in need. Andrew also has
spent the last 3 years as 4-H Camp staff member which is a week long summer program for youth that is put on
by the county of Merced. The program requires high school students from different area high schools to work
together as a team in the Spring to create sessions that focus on leadership skills and business skill while also
integrating life skills. These session are then presented to the 4-H campers by the team during the summer
program. On top of Andrews already busy schedule, he was still able to balance his time enough to play water
polo throughout his high school career with the honor of being named to the 2nd Team all League. He also has
refereed youth soccer on the weekends for the last 4 years as. Additionally, Andrew has been a member of the
California Scholarship Federation, and the Academic Leadership mentor club.
On a personal level, I see Andrew as someone who is not only kind and compassionate with a heart to
serve others, but is also very goal oriented with a strong internal drive to achieve his goals. It is because of these
characteristics that I have no reservation in recommending Mr Andrew Brown to any program he applies for. He
will be a strong asset to any group, organization or institute he is associated with.
