BITUMINUS COAL:-
• Bituminus coal form the major percentage of world’s coal resources.

• Carbon content - 60 to 80%

• Heat content - 24 to 35 mj/kg

• Moisture and volatile content- 15 to 40%

• Bituminus coals have wide range of properties and are, therefore,suitable

for all technological purposes.

• They are used for steam raising, for electric generation,for coke making,
for domestic fuel, for coversion into gas and oil and for deriving a
number of chemical products, and for fertilizers, etc.
GRADES OF COAL:-
The gradation of non-coking coal is based on Useful Heat Value (UHV), the
gradation of coking coal is based on ash content and for semi coking / weakly
coking coal it is based on ash plus moisture content , as in vogue as per
notification.

INTRODUCTION OF SHOVEL MACHINE:-

• Used to excavate the minerals and removing o/b.

SAFETY FEATURES OF DUMPER:-

• Cabin guard extension:- canopy covering operator’s cabin fully.

• Break:- service break,parking break,retarder break (to control over

spending during downhill journey).

• Horn,light,indicator light,parking light.

• Seat belt with belt reminder to alert operation to use seat belt.

• Auto dipping system:-to reduse glare on eyes of operations during night.

• Speed limiting device:electronic or mechanical governor to limt dumper

speed age decided by the manager.

• Audio – visual alarm :-of approved type.

• Load indicator and recorder:-to enable management to detect/prevent

over loading.
MOTER GRADER:-

INTRODUCTION OF MOTER GRADER:-

• Company-beml(bharat earth movers limited).

• Used to level the rough groud surface.

• Tyred mounted.

• 4 tyres.

• Diesel operated.

• A leveling blade is used to level the ground surface.

• Work is efected by bad weather.

PAYLOADER:-

INTRODUCTION OF PAYLOADER:-
• Payloader or wheel loader is a tyre mounted loading machine which is
used to load blasted coal into small tippers or dumpers.

• It is a flexible and cheap machine utilised for loading trucks in coal stock
yard,loading wagons in railway siding, and in some mines for loading
coal at the face.

• It is not suitable for loading o/b.

• The machine is called front end loader also because loading bucket is
mounted at the front.

• Safety precautions of payloader similar to those of a dumper.

MECHANISED OPENCAST METHODS
• Shovel dumper combination.

• Shovel dumper combination with dragline.

• Inpit crussing and conveyor technology.

• Surface miner.

• Bucketwheel excavator.

• Highwall mining.

SHOVEL - DUMPER COMBINATION:-

• Battery condensor type key exploder.

SITE MIXED SLURRY/EMULSION EXPLOSIVE:-

• This explosive is not in the cartridge form.the components of the
explosive are carried in liquid from in different compartments of the
pump truck from suppliers plant to the mine.

• At the site, on starting the pump, the components get mixed in a chamber
and are pumped into the hole through a hose pipe.

• Sinse mixing takes place at the, it known as site mixed slurry or site
mixed emulsion.
