MINUTES OF PRAYER MINISTRY EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 6TH

FEBRUARY 2019
The meeting started at 5:30pm with opening prayer by Bro Sunny Igbinosa, followed by a session of
worship by Sis Udodirim .
The ministry Leader, Brother Joseph, read out the vision, mission and plans of the prayer ministry in
line with church vision as written in the document prepared for the meeting and he read the
agenda for the meeting and declared the meeting open. He advised everyone to carefully choose
their words to express their opinions wisely so it can be documented.
Brother Olufemi Ayanlere, the prayer ministry coordinator, stressed that, leadership in the kingdom
of God should be given top priority. He said there was a lot of work to be done in first quarter and
every Leader should hit the ground running. As regards the vision of the church in 2019, he advised
we work with what we have pending after when the church official calendar will be released. He
advised we take that into consideration when making plans for the ministry.
He also said reports were very important and Leadership performance in personal and assigned
roles will be measured and if one does not measure up they will be stepped down. He said roles
and functions must be properly outlined for each leader. He advised each leader to look out for
something extra as related to their roles and functions as Prayer Ministry members, that specific
actions be planned for every objective goal of prayer ministry.
He suggested that each leader reads the book: Spiritual Authority, follow laid down rules and lines
of reporting, that no matter what you plan to do or where you want to function in the name of the
church, that you must make sure you receive instructions and clarity from church leadership. He
said leadership should be careful not to step out of line, should follow leadership rules and stick to
it.
He encouraged those that lagged behind in 2018 to sit up and make the opportunity count in the
remaining time.
Brother Joseph Igomu stated that specified roles have been written down for every Leader, he
added that the Deputy leader doubles as Librarian. He also said that the seven core leaders will help
the ministry fulfill the seven core missions of the church as well as their job description.
Brother Olufemi Ayanlere at this point, asked if absent leaders, were formally asked to be excused.
Brother Joseph responded that Sister Lydia Omoyeni was properly excused while Brother
Emmanuel Weli did not. Bro Femi advised that he be issued a query.

On the meeting Agenda:

1. On the issue of monthly dues ban and modalities for free will donations and management:
Bro Tejiri advised a pragmatic approach, as the crowd that goes for child dedication or
condolences could be a burden of financial sress to the person being visited. He advised a team
or delegates set up for visitation and whatever gift raised and given to them, he strongly
discouraged crowd visits.
Bro Justice on this issue suggested that there is no cause for alarm as freewill offerings and
donations will still come from members.
Bro Tejiri said only resourceful people would be willing to give in the dicey issue of money. He
said Members would need to be encouraged and motivated to willingly give.
Bro Femi said everyone needs the blessing that comes with giving and giving opens doors in
prayer. He encouraged leaders to start with the donations, to make a decision in their hearts to
give.
Sis Bunmi advised that anyone who belong to a home, ought to participate in the finances of
that family. Leaders are encouraged to do more as most members who really don’t give are the
ones that need it most. She suggested leaders start with giving even if it’s a token whenever
donations are called for as this will encourage others to give.
Bro Femi asked at this point if donations should be called for at every meeting. Whether
Sundays or Saturday?
Bro Joseph said the announcement may be made 4 times a month,he also said the ministry will
learn to walk by faith, that we will take all needs up in prayer as God has promised to supply our
needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus – Phillipians 4.19

2. On Modalities of visits:
Bro Femi said the church expects that if something happens to someone in a ministry group, the
group should rally round the person to offer support and comfort. He advised that members be
informed that they are not under duress to impress with entertainment.
On this, Bro Tejiri suggested delegates go for visits, a cluster of people to go to a certain family
etc, so as not to put financial pressure on the people.
Bro Felix in another vein said, while we send delegates to do visit, others who really want to
visit should be allowed. He suggested that members be encouraged and allowed to be willing to
financially commit to going all out for others.
Bro Promise said that leadership Is by responsibility and that leaders should be willing to go all
out and that members who are willing to make sacrifices should be encouraged and allowed to.
Sis Bunmi at this point said that movement may also be determined by the number of vehicles
available for the movement.
Bro Joseph said his intention on raising the point was to raise the awareness on the steadily
increasing numbers in the church and the ministry, and if these are taken into consideration
then more responsibilities will be pushed on the branches so the growth and spread will be
accommodated.
3. Modalities for Gifts:
The decision was unanimously reached for a maximum of N5,000 be given in gifts for
childbirth and a token of N10,000 be given at condolences.
On gifts/attendance at traditional weddings, Bro Sunny said that the practice was that if
the location is close, members would pay a token for transportation so as to go out to
support, but if it is a distant location, then one or two brethren will be supported by the
ministry to attend.
On gifts at hospital visitation, Bro Femi suggested that gifts should be based on the
evaluation of the immediate needs of the person and the uniqueness of cases. He however
suggested that a flat rate may not be practicable.
On the other hand, Bro Joseph said after we have done our bit, bigger cases will be referred
to Benevolence ministry. He suggested that a flat rate of N10,000 be put in place.
Bro Femi said that although our responsibility is first to committed members before help is
offered to others.
Bro Tejiri said that before we start sending referrals to the Benevolence ministry, we should
understand the policy and plans of the ministry.
On birthdays, a flat rate of N2,000 to buy a book/card which can be signed on by members.
On the occasion of the demise of a member, the donations will be placed on the status of a
project, and a minimum of N100,000 shall be raised as condolences token to the family.
Peculiarities will be addressed as the need arises.
4. Modalities for hospital visit:
Leaders/welfare team, are to visit immediately and announce to the general house.
5. Modalities of wedding gift:
Minimum token of N20,000 shall be given to member. Other members are expected to come
bearing gifts to the wedding.
To attend weddings:
Depending on the distance and peculiarities, a representative will be sent when distance is
much in case of traditional weddings. As for church weddings, members are expected to attend
as much as they can with favorable proximity, representatives may be sent if out of town.
6. Quarterly love time and sharing:
Bro Femi advised on the need to be careful and not to overlabor people so that the essence of
giving and receiving is not lost.
Bro Joseph said that instead of just one December love feast, quarterly love feast could be done
periodically so as to love on each other.
Bro Femi advised that membership list be reviewed especially on WhatsApp. He suggested that
attendance be taken at centers and strong membership be determined by Saturday prayer time
meetings and night vigils, while people excused at such meetings will only be those actively
engaged at the centers on Saturdays especially those readying and preparing venues.
He advised Leaders currently not serving to remember that they are still serving the Lord and
the ministry, howbeit not officially.
Bro Joe adjourned the meeting for want of time, stating that items 6 and 7 on the agenda will
