This is where you think about your FMP learning journey and development.

your project. What do you need to improve?

THIS IS JUST GUIDANCE THAT YOU NEED TO ADAPT TO YOUR OWN PROJECT. YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR
OWN PRODUCTION SCHEDULES AND YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS SHOULD REFELCT THAT.

THESE QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN THE WEEKS YOU COMPLETED THEM. DO NOT JUST SUBMIT THIS
FORM FILLED IN FOR YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS. THERE SHOULD BE 11 WEEKLY BLOG ENTRIES (INCLUDING

Week Eight – Filming

FILMING

What practical work have you done This week I filmed my last interview with my Mum and also filmed
this week - and how helpful was your some b-roll in Reading. The planning really helped me film my
earlier planning? interview because I knew what camera setup I wanted and
what I wanted my mum to speak about.

How will this be useful to you as your

production process continues

Upload behind the scenes pictures

and videos and comment on what This is the behind the scene
they show photo I took off when I
interviewed my dad. In this
photo you can see the
camera setup and how I
got the rule of thirds layout
but also the microphone I
used and for the lighting
luckily behind the camera
was a window so the
lighting is all natural

What issues did you encounter whilst One issue I encountered was not having a second camera
out filming and how did you angle. To overcome this in my final edit I will regularly change
overcome them? between the 2 interviews so the viewers don’t get bored but I
will also add b-roll to keep the viewers interested.

How suitable do you feel your I think my locations were very suitable for filming because my
locations were for your filming? documentary is about my family’s personal story and I think
filming it at home adds a personal taste. Also I filmed my b-roll in
reading and on oxford street and oxford street is full of culture
and different nationalities but I tried including as many polish
shops and building to make it more linked with my family

How have you made use of the I have made use of the skills I’ve used this year. Through the year
technical skills you have developed so I’ve learnt how to properly setup an interview and I’ve used that
far this year? skill to film my interviews. I’ve learnt how to setup a camera and
use the rule of thirds, I’ve also learnt how to get the best audio
quality by using a microphone and also how to get the best
lighting. I filmed my interviews in the daylight so there was a lot
of natural lighting.

Having reviewed your footage, are I am very happy with what I recorded so in that case I don’t
you happy with what you have need to reshoot anything.
captured and does anything need
reshooting?

Are you ready to edit? If not, how far I have already started to edit because I need to add subtitles so
behind are you? I’ve already started to edit and when I’ve got all the b-roll and
my piece to camera filmed then I’ll start editing everything.

What work do you need to complete Outside of lesson I need to complete weekly blogs and finish
outside of lessons to stay on track? contents research
