Artistic

Statement
Throughout the book, it has been noticed that
the artwork of photos looks like a lot piles of trash
that makes readers feel disgusted. The subject matter
overall is on the focus of trash pollution in the
community. Over the past years trash has been an
issue so the focus is on pollution. The title of this
work is "Destroying our World with Trash" because
the community just worsens with pollution. This
artwork includes elements like exaggeration to the
eye catching to the audience.
A lot of the artwork was made with
exaggeration to be appealing. Some of the photos
required taking photos of the inside of a trash can.
Other photos were realistic too though like the trash
found on school campuses and under the bleachers. A
lot of timing had to be done to capture certain photos
like getting the custodian and the garbage truck. A
number of the images required being in a certain
position to get the right angles.
The artwork throughout this book was
inspired by my concerns with the environment. From
a personal experience and a witness of the pollution it
had to be exposed. It is a social issue that affects
everyone in the community and even animals.
Throughout the book I tried to show a feeling of
sadness because of the animals being affected. I also
tried to get a feeling of disgust to encourage to people
to do something.

My goal as an artist is to capture an audience's
awareness so they pay attention to my artwork. I want
them to understand what my art means and what I am
trying to express. Another goal of mine is to send my
message across clearly. This piece did help reach my
goals because the message of trash pollution is clear.
The audience can receive the message that the trash in
our community is an issue.
Making this artwork, I learned how to take
better photos and to exaggerate the images. In
creating this artwork it showed my skills in
exaggerating the situation improved. The artwork did
come out to be what I imagined because of the great
photos. In my future photos, they will be influenced
by this artwork because of new techniques I had
learned. My future artworks will come out better and
with photos looking more professionally.

Biography

Yuvia Wallheimer was born on February 2 of

2002 in Houston, Texas. She has always taken
pictures from a little kid to her recent life. High
school is where she began to take photos more
professionally. She has had professional
learning experience with a class taken in high
school where she learned guides on how to
improve photos. What has interested Yuvia in
photography were the way objects and people
can be seen as aesthetic in a single photo. In her
book she chose the topic of trash pollution
because it is a big issue in schools and in the
community making the community look bad. In
photography she learned how to use certain
rules like golden ratio to make all her photos
look better from then on and to the future.
