3. summarize the story that they have read.

SUCCESS CRITERIA (SC) : Pupils will be successful when they:


1. read at least a book of their choice;
2. identify the meanings of at least 5 unfamiliar words;
3. summarize the story using simple sentences.

ACTIVITIES
i. PRE-LESSON 1. Pupils talk about their favourite story-books.
ii. LESSON : 2. Pupils choose a book of their interest.
DEVELOPMENT 3. Pupils identify the meanings of unfamiliar words using a dictionary.
4. Pupils write a summary of the story that they have read.
iii. POST-LESSON : 5. Pupils state the lesson that could be learnt from the story that they
have read.
