Il caso dell'adulterio di Sakineh è una tragica mistificazione piena zeppa di viol

overno iraniano ha dovuto revocare la sentenza dopo che i suoi figli hanno provo
cato una gigantesca protesta contro quell'accusa ridicola: lei non conosceva la
lingua usata nel processo, e i presunti episodi di adulterio risalivano a un mom
ento successivo alla morte del marito.
Poi il suo avvocato è stato costretto all'esilio, e a suo carico è stata inventata u
n'altra accusa: l'omicidio del marito, nonostante il fatto che un altro uomo fos
se stato condannato per lo stesso motivo. Sakineh è stata torturata ed esposta sul
le televisioni nazionali per "confessare". Lo scorso mese il regime ha arrestato
due giornalisti tedeschi, il suo avvocato e suo figlio, che ha portato avanti c
on coraggio una campagna internazionale per salvare sua madre. Ora sono tutti in
carcere, e il figlio di Sakineh e l'avvocato sono stati torturati senza alcuna
possibilità di difesa legale.
Gli attivisti per i diritti umani in Iran ci informano che Teheran ha ordinato d
i eseguire la sua condanna immediatamente: lei è sulla lista e il giorno della sua
esecuzione è oggi.
La nostra incessante campagna aveva costretto l'Iran a rinunciare alla lapidazio
ne di Sakineh e aveva catturato l'attenzione dei leader dei paesi che esercitano
