Symptom

You got error message "Global information cannot be read" in the status bar in T-cd: SE01/SE09/SE10

Environment

SAP Netweaver Release Independent

Reproducing the Issue

The error happened on below two scenarios:

1.In SE09/SE10(or SE01->'Transports')->set the user field as " * " ->Click the "Transports" button in "Global
Information" tab.

2.In SE09/SE10(or SE01->'Transports') -> Fill the user field with a real username(let's say <username>)->
Click the "Transports" button in "Global Information" tab.

Cause

Usually tere are two reasons.

1.File /usr/sap/trans/sapnames/leiche does not exist.

For Windows environment,it means file <DIR_TRANS>\sapnames\leiche does not exist.

The file \usr\sap\trans\sapnames\leiche is available in every SAP transport directory . Normally the released
"local requests" are recorded there under the artifical user name 'Leiche'.
Any released "transportable requests" are saved under the owner name.

2.This is caused by the fact that file /usr/sap/trans/sapnames/<username> does not have enough
authorizations at operating system level.

For Windows environment,it means the file <DIR_TRANS>\sapnames\<username> does not have enough
authorizations at operating system level.

1.Create a text file with name "leiche" under /usr/sap/trans/sapnames.

For Windows environment,it is under <DIR_TRANS>\sapnames

2.Make sure /usr/sap/trans/sapnames/<username> have enough authorizations at operating system level.For

example the file had permission 660 when the error happened,then you should change it to 664.

For Windows environment,make sure OS users <SID>adm and SAPService<SID> have read and write
permissions to the file <DIR_TRANS>\sapnames\<username>.
