 The global-settings are included in the project settings each time a CAD file is
opened

FEM-mesh (approximate values)

 Edge division min [mm]: Reference value for the min. division of the region edges
 Edge division max [mm]: Reference value for the max. division of the region
edges
 Minimum angle[°]: Reference for the min. angle in the FEM triangle
FEM-mesh refinement
 Max. number of passes
Each pass consists of at least two races. After each pass, the network is refined
for the 1st pass, the FEM network is generated with the settings under „FEM
network (guideline values).

 Factor mesh refinement

Factor by which the mesh is refined after each pass. A factor of 0.5 means a
halving of the division of the edges. The setting "Minimum angle" remains
unaffected by the network refinement. Only the settings "Edges division min /
max" are affected.
 Acceptable heat flow change[%]
Only decisive if the maximum number of runs is greater than 1.
If the heat flow of the last of the penultimate pass does not exceed the specified
value, the calculation is terminated.
If the deviation is larger, a new pass with a refined network or a corresponding
reference will be issued if the max. Number of passes has been reached.

FEM-Berechnung
 Max. number of calculation runs
Maximum number of cycles within one run.
 Temperature change <= x [1/10³K]
Cancellation criterion for the temperature change within a computer run.
 rel. heat flow change <= x [%]
Stop criterion for the temperature change within a calculation run.
 Cancellation at the heat flow change <= x [W/m]
If the heat flow of the last calculation run does not exceed the specified value,
continuity is terminated.
If the difference is larger, a new calculation run with the same network or a
corresponding note is made if the max. Number of calculation runs will be
reached.

 Method equiv. conductivity
o Isotropic: Conductivity of the cavities is calculated isotropically (with hook)
or anisotropically (without hook)
o Temperature based: The calculation of the cavities is temperature-
dependent
 Method Radiosity: Use of the radiosity method for the calculation of the cavities

EN 673
 Temperatur based: Calculation of the intervening spaces to EN 673 depends on
temperature (with hook) or –independent (without hook)
 Delta T: Specification of the temperature difference for the calculation according
to EN 673
EN ISO 6946
 Temperatur based: The calculation of the cavities according to EN ISO 6946 is
temperature-dependent (with hook) or -independently (without hook)

4.4.1 Uf- value

The Uf-value of the frame profil will be callculated automatically. The glass structure is
replaced by a calibration panel. After the calculation, a scalable frame and the result is
given to the drawing.

The sides of the frame can be moved manually. This changes the calculated Uf-value.
By clicking the Uf calculation is removed from the display.
