The future. How will it look like?

Introduction
In this report I'm writing about the way the future will look. I am writing this report based on
real facts and information. I hope this report will win the scholarship. I will talk about how our
homes will look in the near future, how we will work and how we will travel. We are the witnesses
of the biggest change in the history: a new era of machines in evolving and we are part of it's
beginning. We can just imagine how the far future will look like, but we can predict and even build
the near future. Our life will be more or less different than today and in this report I will try to
approach the most usual aspects of our life.

How our homes will look like?

People spend enough time at home. Even if the technology has evolved in the last years, our
homes are pretty similar with our grandparents' homes. We still have kitchens, living rooms,
bedrooms and bathrooms. We're still sitting on sofas, eating at tables and sleeping on mattresses
resting on wooden or metal bed frames. Yes, the design is different, but we haven't changed very
much our homes. Still, it is obviously that we did improved the ways we work at home. We use all
kind of robots for cooking or cleaning, we use news or entertaining services like television or
internet. But we still can improve our homes. In the future we will have completely hermetically
sealed homes, with full computer control of air temperature, oxygen and humidity level. We may
use more and more the solar energy and maybe we will not have to use a public electrical network.
Maybe we will recycle the water we use and probably we will have more robots and machines to
work for us. A very interesting concept is the moving house: so we will be able to move from a
place to another without buying a new house, just taking ours with us.

How will we work?

There are already people working from home. In the last years we saw how office work has
virtualized, but there is still space for improving. Actually, we can send and receive almost
anywhere virtual documents and print them, but we are starting to virtualize even objects. The 3D
printers are a new brand and are pretty expensive, but in the near future they will be indispensable
for the most offices. Apparently, we'll always need people to work physical, to build the robots, but
in the future we may create some robots to repair the others. Actually we will be able to work
exclusively from home. That may be helpful to make the same work in less time, but this may make
people to forget to socialize. To solve this problem, there will be need to give people more free time
to travel and socialize. That may be another problem: working from home does not means we'll
work alone. We'll still work in groups, but we may live very far one from each other. That's why we
will need to travel really fast to socialize to people we know, even if they are far away.

How will we travel?

People are already more willing to travel. We already are able to travel to other continents
pretty fast, but the future will increase that speed. Supersonic planes are usual now, but in the future
we may use supersonic cars, or trains. Of course, all of this should use electrical or another “green”
energy. We already have the future concepts of traveling, but right now the economics interests are
too strong and the world rulers are not too willing to change the way they are making money, but
they will be forced to. Another interesting journey we will be able to do in the future is in space.
There are some rumors about space hotels for civilians, but for now, they are just rumors. We hope
that the future will make it possible.

In conclusion, we can say that the future starts today. Every change we see daily, every new
invention, new gadgets, after all, new robots, make us to see that our world is evolving in a virtual
direction. We will certainly live different in the future and is important for us to prepare ourselves
for any changes we will make at home, at work or in travelling.
