DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 7


I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, most of the students will be able to:
1. define what sensory imagery is;
2. understand the different kinds of sensory images;
3. appreciate sensory images;
4. create a travelogue using different sensory images.

A. Content Standards:
The learner demonstrates understanding of: contemporary Philippine literature as means of
responding to the demands of global village; various extended text types, lexical and contextual
clues; appropriate and polite oral language stance, and behavior; use of imperative, preposition,
verbs and wh- questions.

B. Performance Standards:
The learner transfers learning by composing and delivering a brief and creative entertainment
speech featuring a variety of effective paragraphs, appropriate grammatical signals or expressions
in topic development, and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior in varies information
teaching formats

C. Learning Competency:
EN7LT-II-d-2.2.1 Express Appreciation for sensory images.

IV: PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing Previous Lesson or Presenting the New Lesson (Before the Lesson):

 What is our lesson all about yesterday?


 “I Believe”: The teacher will ask students to think about their favourite place and
favourite food and after that students will be asked to look for a pair.
Pairing: The students will let their pair guess their favourite place and favourite
food by describing it using 3 adjectives. Every description will start with the words
“I Believe”, then the other pair will also give the guess by starting it with the words
“I Believe”.
 The teacher will ask 3 volunteers to let the group guess their favourite place and
favourite food by following the same mechanics.

B. Establishing a Purpose for the Lesson:


 What do you think will be your world without senses?
 What are the uses of the different senses?

C. Presenting Examples/ Instances of the Lesson (During the Lesson):


 Those pictures shows us about loneliness , so sometimes we did a short message to the
person that cause us the pain ,one of this example is a poem. A poem is a arrangement
of words written or spoken traditionally rhythmical, expressing experience, ideas or
emotions in a style more concentrated, imaginative and powerful than the ordinary speech.

 Presentation of the poem ‘I watch you go” by Susanah Thompson

D. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New Skills #1:

1. What is the poem all about?
2.Compare to the song you have listened and to the poem you read ? Does the
two person or characters love each other?
3.Is there any chances of bringing back the love, of that two person in a song and
Poem?

E. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New Skills #2:

 Express different views and opinions when love is both fighting for.

F. Developing Mastery (Done After the Lesson and Leads to Formative Assessment):
Debate
“LET GO “ vs. HOLD ON
 Group the students into two (2). Through a simple debate let them choose there argument.
What are the two sides of coin in separation?

What are the things or ways that you will do in order to make stay the person that is
important to you ? ( it can be a family or a loveones)

H. Making Generalizations and abstractions about the lesson

. What is love?
. Does love also requires us to sacrifice? Or it is just for happiness?

I. Evaluating learning

What was the message of the poem? Write HOLD ON ( true) if you agree with the
statement and LET GO ( false) if you disagree. Write your answer in a one-half lengthwise Sheet
of paper.
