Dear Brave One,

Hello my name is Alex Cheng and I am a 7th grader at Kraemer Middle School. I am a student
in Mrs. Kling’s Computer Applications class. (Her email: lkling@pylusd.org) The purpose of this
letter is for me to tell you how grateful I am for you. I want to tell you how happy I am to go to
school safely and feel protected. Im grateful that we have such caring Veterans who lay down
their lives to ensure our safety in this country.

First of all, I’m happy that I can go anywhere without hearing gunshots around. The only reason
that happens is because we have veterans that lay down their lives to protect and ensure safety
to all citizens of the United States. I’m grateful that you are willing to risk your life to protect
everyone when you don’t even have too. When I was younger and my parents told me about
World War 2 .I remember them saying that the only reason we have a roof over our head is
because we had brave veterans that risked their lives fighting for our country. Every November
11th at 11:00 a.m. ,I always think about the veterans who died in order to protect our country.

All I want you to know is that I am truly grateful that you served to protect our country from
people that try to harm us. It takes a brave and willing heart to join the Army, Navy, or Marine
Corpto protect others from danger. So for that, I’m grateful that you risked your life to save
others. Thank you for taking your time to read my letter of appreciation.

Sincerely,

Alex Cheng
