WEEKLY JOURNALS

This is where you think about your FMP learning journey and development.
Don’t simply describe what you did - consider what you have learnt and how this has benefitted
your project. What do you need to improve?

THIS IS JUST GUIDANCE THAT YOU NEED TO ADAPT TO YOUR OWN PROJECT. YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR
OWN PRODUCTION SCHEDULES AND YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS SHOULD REFELCT THAT.

THESE QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN THE WEEKS YOU COMPLETED THEM. DO NOT JUST SUBMIT THIS
FORM FILLED IN FOR YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS. THERE SHOULD BE 11 WEEKLY BLOG ENTRIES (INCLUDING
EASTER).

Week Seven – Filming

PLANNING

What did you learn from your planning This week on planning, I was finalising everything ready to film. I
this week? had all of my documents ready, all I need is the go ahead and
confirmations form my actors. I learned this week that I had a
lot of work ahead of me, I realised now that the tight schedule
of all of my actors means that the day we start filming, we will
have to really work in it as people have to leave for extremely
important things.

I also learned that people can be very untrustworthy and can

cancel at last minute. I need to be sure that I can trust who will
actually turn up.

What issues did you encounter and I encountered lots of issues, one of them was on the first day of
how did you overcome them? filming, the actor that will play Roberto got drunk at a party,
and was extremely hungover and couldn’t drive to my place,
and the fun part is that he knew he was supposed to be filming
anyway, but still got drunk. Keep in mind that that was the only
day he could film... This then triggered a chain reaction of the
person playing dino was now playing Roberto, and me calling
in a backup actor, this was a catastrophe.

I did manage to overcome this problem but it was so stressful

for me and the backup actor. He had a busy schedule but
managed to make way for the filming day.

How did you ensure that you are Because of the chaos that was organising my actors, I had a
prepared for filming? little less time than I expected, I had everything ready, and
because of previous issues I had no equipment needed to
bring, but props was an issue, Since the guns were at Parises
house, and the rest of the props people were bringing, I had to
completely rely on my actors to come through, so if we have
this done, we kill two birds with one stone.

How did you ensure that your I had knowledge of what equipment I need, I also provided full
equipment lists were completed to a names and model numbers of the item, who uses them and
high standard? when. It was important that I included this information so I can
make it as authentic as possible.

How have you ensured your actors This has been explained in the boxes above, but can be done
and crew will be available? again.

Actors kept backing out and changing times, it was so

frustrating and I lost my nerve many times, I finally got them to
agree on a specific date but then one of them got drunk and
backed out because he had a hangover. I had t call in a
backup who lived an hour away. Which was stressful for them
and me. But he agreed and will be able to film.

How well have you been able to Locations are solid, and transport will be redundant as the two
organise locations and transport? locations I am filming in are in walking distance of each other. I
would I have planned these location out well and the
availability of these locations are available on the day of
filming, so it will go very well.

Are you on track for the week? If not, I have some research to do that I completely forgot about, but
how far behind are you? can be done quickly.

What work do you need to complete I can do these things perfectly at home.
outside of lessons to stay on track?
