~ SOUTHERN SECTOR DESCRIPTION –


~A zone from ground to 3000ft, POT radial 130° through S. to 230° and from POT 9.5d to 50d.
Radio – Control from NAF Tower on122.35 from POT 9.5d to 20d, ground to 3000ft. Flight Watch from Airwork on131.80
from POT 20d to 50d, ground to 3000ft.
~ TRAFFIC SEPARATION WITHIN THE SOUTHERN SECTOR –
~All a/c departing for destinations more than 25nms from their departure points are to climb at ‘best rate’ to the
outbound altitudes and use the ‘Departure Procedures’ detailed below. They are to set course directly for their destination
at a POT dme also detailed below and at a level that complies with the ‘East and Westbound altitudes noted on page 1.
NB- All NAF and Shell departures with crossing or similar ‘tracks to destination’ MUST be directed by ATC to separate
their lifting times by 4 mins or more. Aircrew are to monitor.
~All a/c inbound are to be at or below 1500ft by POT 50d unless returning from the South East via Ebubu, in this case
a/c are to be at 2000ft and below. Southern Sector a/c are to enter the zone, (POT 20d) via Ebubu or Samki. Note
crossing tracks in the map above and beware traffic outbound via Alakri.
~ DEPARTURE PROCEDURES –
Note- NAF & Shell have exclusive use of 3000ft as their West outbound altitude - Agip & Saipem have exclusive use of
2000ft as their West outbound altitude. All sites have the use of 2500ft as the East outbound altitude.
~NAF Rwy 22- Maintain rwy heading, climb to 1000ft then head 180°. On reaching outbound altitude maintain heading.
On reaching POT 17d set course directly for destination. (NB- Route to avoid the Military Area and Refineries).
~NAF Rwy 04 – Eastbound traffic - route via Zone E or NE at 700ft or 1500ft. Westbound traffic – climb ahead to
1000ft, level turn left to Abonnema or Ahoada, (beware masts) - or – Clear with ATC to continue the climb to 2500ft or
3000ft routing via N22DR, then head 180° and set course for destination at POT 17d. If Westbound, an earlier release
on course may be approved by ATC.
~Shell Rwy 19 – Climb heading 175° to outbound altitude. Maintain heading and set course at POT 18.5d.
~Agip – Climb heading 240° to outbound altitude. Maintain heading and set course at POT 17.5d.
~Saipem – Lift heading West then climb heading 240° to outbound altitude. Set course at POT 19d.
~PH Intl Departures to the South – Request clearance to track POT Radial 173° to 17d at your outbound altitude.
Request higher on PH Twr 119.20 if there is traffic departing NAF. Set course at POT 17d.
~ NOTES –
~Samki to NAF traffic – Remain East of Saipem & Agip then route well to the West of Rwy 22 centreline. (In low viz
route via N22DR).
~Military Traffic – May route direct to the Training Area, or any direction. NAF is a Military Base. If in doubt GIVE WAY.
~NE Zone & Zone E (2 way) – Separation is by East and Westbound altitudes. Route inbound via 5nm Final Rwy22.
~Ebubu Traffic – The ‘standard’ inbound altitude from the SE is 2000ft to Ebubu, descending to 1500ft on reaching,
(request lower if needed). Beware 1200ft MAST to N. Track overhead NAF, then descend and join downwind right for
Taxiway or Rwy 22. Call NAF Twr 122.35 10mins before the zone. If rerouted inbound via Samki beware crossing traffic.
~Agip Base and Saipem – Some altitudes are non-standard. Check ‘Agip R/W procedures’.
~SPEED LIMIT - 120kts in NAF Zone. NAF Twr. may direct a limit of 100ktsin heavy traffic, to reduce hetrodyning.
