What is Create Tour?

ê 3 years
ê 3 companies
ê 3 schools
ê 3 districts

The Create Tour is a project that is funded through Arts Council strategic touring and The Esmée Fairbairn
Foundation. It runs alongside ON Tour and enables venues to book through the scheme at a subsidised
rate. It is currently touring work to Ryedale, Richmondshire and Redcar and East Cleveland until 2020.

Schools
Create Tour works in partnership with 3 local schools in these districts. Groups of young people from the
schools have the opportunity to work with professional artists from the touring company to create a curtain
raiser performance, they then go on tour with the company to perform their piece in a variety of venues
including schools, community and arts centres and village halls.
The project will reach over 180 young people as well as bring new audiences of young people to work-
shops, Q&A’s and to watch the performances.

The Companies
We are working with 3 professional performance companies who have the opportunity to be hosted by
each district over the 3 years. See further information on the tours that are coming up next in 19/20 in this
brochure and book now!
