Sample Student Comments

DWA 101
Phillip M. Ayoub

• Professor Ayoub was easily one of my favorite professors at Oxy so far. He made an active
effort to include everyone and cultivated a comfortable class environment where I felt no
anxiety to contribute.
• The strengths of the instruction is that Ayoub speaks very clearly about the material. He
would often repeat theories or definitions to get it ingrained in our learning. He is very open
to explaining anything at any time. His powerpoints were very helpful, as they have the
perfect amount of information on it (not too much or too vague) and when he speaks he
gives examples of what is presented. He is just such an amazing professor.
• Professor Ayoub was always very approachable and laid out what exactly we learning and
why. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the class.
• Seems to love both the world of IR and his job teaching, very good teacher and makes
even lecture classes more fun.
• Very active and interested in the topic he was teaching. Great comments on work
returned and always clear explanations.
• Professor Ayoub is extremely passionate and there were definitely moments when
something interesting was brought up and he was able to relate everything back to readings
and the foundations of DWA, even if it was potentially tangential. For days where it was
lecture heavy he always told us that we should interrupt him to ask questions and he
frequently asked us questions to keep us thinking and engaged. Also because of my
background information there were a lot of DWA things I wanted to talk to him about and
he was always open to talking quickly after class and encouraged me to look at the things
I'm passionate about in the lens of DWA and the course material.
• Professor Ayoub provided lots of diverse readings that enabled students to learn about
the various topics in DWA/IR. He did a good job of going over topics and readings in class; I
appreciated that he spent extra time on a topic if students were unsure. He always
answered every question thoroughly.
• Professor Ayoub was always willing to go above and beyond to make sure his students
were fully prepared for exams or other assignments. He encouraged us to ask questions and
was always ready to explain concepts that I was still confused about.
• He is extremely kind and helpful in every way. He is very motivated by the material which
makes it very entertaining to learn.
• Professor Ayoub greatly supports and facilitates class discussion and contribution. He is
happy to let students take the lead at times to prioritize what we are struggling with or have
questions about.
• Great teaching style and was very receptive to feedback.
• I liked the structure of doing the readings on our own and then coming to class to discuss
and analyze them. I generally had a bit of difficulty fully comprehending the readings but
felt confident that I understood the material after coming to class and discussing. I also
think that Professor Ayoub was very responsive to students wishes and set up the class in a
way that would help each of us best succeed as long as we also put in the work. In
particular, Prof. Ayoub sent out a questionnaire to see what type of test format fit us best
and used our answers to create the midterm and I expect the final as well.
Phillip M. Ayoub

• Professor Ayoub carried a strong enthusiasm about the material and made each student
feel comfortable enough to ask questions when feeling challenged. His lectures were
fantastic and he
delivered information in a manner very easy to follow and understand. He did a great job
taking concepts and material many students had never been exposed to and breaking it
down so that it was simple to digest. I really appreciate his approach and felt that he knew
how to really teach subject material and have it resonate and stick with his students.
• Professor Ayoub was very passionate about what he taught. I've always been very
interested in queer politics, so I loved getting him as a professor to hear talk about these
topics. He also took all the time we needed to help us understand what we were learning.
He is great.
• The journals that we kept on current events from our respective simulation countries was
one of the best aspects of this class. I know a lot of people in the other sections really liked
this idea and
wished they were doing the same. Although the in-class presentations weren't always
followed with immediate engagement by the rest of the class, Professor Ayoub never failed
to jump in and ask questions to the presenters that typically opened up the gates for the
rest of the class to ask more questions. And even if some presentation days the class
seemed silent or disengaged, the overall consensus was that the journals themselves were
super helpful for us to connect our studies theories to the news. Another strength of this
class is that our lectures were never dull or confusing. (And for a 4-5:30 class period that is
super impressive!) Professor Ayoub always listed the structure the class would take on the
board and for the most part we adhered to that. But if we didn't, he always made the
necessary adjustments to the syllabus which was greatly appreciated. While our syllabus
changed up quite a bit, I do not feel like we fell behind in learning. In fact, out of all the
courses I took this semester at Occidental, I feel like I learned the most from this course. All
of our readings, whether light or heavy, were systematically discussed in class to make sure
we understood them, and the guests we had (Dr. Broch, Professor Logvinenko) tied
extremely well into the content we were studying. Furthermore, when we participated in
class Professor always did what I like to think of as "callbacks" on our comments. He would
verbally cite something someone mentioned within the first five minutes of discussion, in
the last five minutes of class and that really made participation feel welcomed and useful. I
am so happy I chose to take IR Changing the Rules of the Game for all the course had to
offer me, but mostly, I am super grateful to have had Professor Ayoub as my instructor
because he really set the foundation for my interests in Diplomacy and World Affairs.
• I have no suggestions, this was by far one of the best courses I have taken at Oxy,
particularly regarding instruction.
• It is really apparent that Professor Ayoub is more than well-versed in his field. He has a
way with words that simplifies the topics covered in class, which made for very smooth
sailing this semester. He is also incredibly approachable when it comes to questions. This
made for a stress-free environment that was undoubtedly optimal for me to fully engage in
the material. I would absolutely recommend Professor Ayoub's courses to friends in the
future.
Phillip M. Ayoub

• Professor Ayoub was great in that he was very encouraging of critical thinking by students
even if some questions or answers were not what he was looking for. He also did a
wonderful job of making the environment comfortable enough for students to ask any
question and not feel ostracized.

DWA 239:

• His passion for the course material was obvious, demonstrated in every class meeting. It
was also clear that he is invested in the successes of his students. I met with him at various
points throughout the semester, and he was always receptive and had wonderful advice,
even if it had nothing to do with the course itself. He also set up a very helpful meeting with
the fellowship office.
• The instruction in this course had so many strengths. The professor included a
combination of lecture, discussion, videos, and workshops during class time, which kept
class interesting and engaging. He struck the perfect balance between lecture and
discussion, encouraging students to ask questions and contribute their own opinions while
still creating opportunities to provide new information and expand upon what was
presented in the reading material. His lectures were informative, and he frequently directed
questions to the class. He also made a clear effort from the beginning of the semester to get
to know students and connect with them on a personal level. He requested student
feedback often and was incredibly receptive to it, going so far as to modify the syllabus for
the second half of the semester to accommodate students' interests and preferences. The
professor was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and clear. Overall, I think the instruction in this
course was excellent.
• Professor Ayoub made sure to craft each lecture in a way that was coherent, organized,
and clear in order to explain complex topics to the class. Overall, the instruction in the
course was interesting, yet thought-provoking, especially as Professor Ayoub allowed for
class discussion whenever possible to further our ability to comprehend the material. The
use of journals to connect the readings to current events also aided in our understanding of
the course's main themes, thus allowing us to apply concepts learned in class to the outside
world.
• The professor was frankly fantastic. Much of the reason for this was his obvious and in-
depth knowledge of the course material as well as his commitment to student input and
making the class feel more of a joint effort towards learning rather than simply dull lectures.
Furthermore, he made great and very effective efforts to use student feedback to structure
the class as the semester went on.
• My interest and passion for DWA was greatly increased. I can now go into my final years
at Oxy confident in my choice of major.
• The course provided me with most the information which I will use to write my senior
comps. It clarified many of the misconceptions that I had about Europe and contribute
greatly to my overall understanding of world politics.
• Easily my favorite course this semester. Thank you, Professor Ayoub, for a fantastic and
engaging class. I hope to take more classes with you in the future.
Phillip M. Ayoub

• Consistently over this entire semester I was impressed by Prof Ayoub's teaching. All
readings and assignments were meaningful and productive work, never busy work.
Sometimes when the readings were dry, albeit important for the class, they were brought
to life during lecture with videos and engaging stories. I found office hours to be very
helpful and he was easy to get in contact with. He was also a wonderful source for
information about an independent research project.
• I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed this class. I had three 90 minute classes in a
row every Monday and Wednesday this semester and this was the last of those three, but it
always held my attention and I always looked forward to it, even after several hours directly
before of class time and that is most definitely not an easy thing to do and certainly the
mark of an excellent class. Not only did I feel that I genuinely learned a lot in this class, but I
also thoroughly enjoyed it. Every aspect of this class from the structure to the consistent
utilization of student feedback came together to make a truly enjoyable classroom
experience and one of the best classes I've had so far at Oxy. I will most definitely be taking
classes with Phillip Ayoub again and I believe that the faculty made an excellent decision in
his hiring.
• Professor Ayoub is fantastic -- I learned so much during my time with him. I've never had a
lot of interest in DWA, but this class made me want to pursue the topic, especially if I can
take another class with Professor Ayoub.

DWA 257
• Professor Ayoub conducts a truly exceptional classroom environment and course
curriculum. He is extremely knowledgable on the topics he teaches, yet presents
information in a tangible manner. His lectures and readings are interesting, manageable and
thought-provoking.
• Professor Ayoub is an amazing teacher!! I appreciate him so much. He gave us a clear
study guide for our mid-term and is very clear with his expectations of our work and
assignments.
• Professor Ayoub was clear and concise about what he wanted from the class. He
introduced the topics surrounding the class in a very interesting, and captivating manner.
I've always wanted to come to this class, the energy is great and I always feel like I learn a
lot everyday I'm here.
• Professor Ayoub encouraged students to discuss outside events related to social
movements in class and relate them to the material. Additionally, having students prepare
current events was a
excellent way to stimulate intellectual curiosity and practice applying the material to real
life events. Getting to meet Professor Zepeda-Milan was an incredible way to reinforce all
material that we learned from reading his book. The methodological components of the
course helped me in planning for my comps.
• This class was extremely well structured, even with being a 3 hours class. I understood the
material and never felt confused on concepts or what we were going to discuss in class. I
also really appreciated how helpful written comments on assignments and feedback in
office hours were.
Phillip M. Ayoub

• I think Professor Ayoub's ability to clearly explain complex social movement theory is
extraordinary. It was always clearly laid out with examples and application. I felt every
explanation was thoroughly planned and thought out. The lectures were always engaging.
He made an effort to always ask students if they had questions. I was extremely
appreciative of his ability to walk the line of addressing the class material but also letting
students engage in separate but equally interesting discussion. Students were always able
to and encouraged to participate. He is an excellent facilitator of discussion.
• This course was my favorite class of the year. Prof. Ayoub has such relevant and
interesting experience in regards to the theme of the course, and we learned/benefitted
from that immensely. The class was organized with the perfect mix of engaging articles,
books, videos, lectures, discussions, etc. Prof. Ayoub structured the class in a way that
perfectly led us from theory to examples. We were evaluated through a well-structured
midterm exam, as well as three writing assignments throughout the semester. The class
ended perfectly with group presentations that proved we had learned so much about social
movements over the course of the weeks.
• Great professor. I enjoyed learning about Professor Ayoub’s personal research as well. The
theories taught in class were well applied to real world applications and I enjoyed how
Professor Ayoub allowed the class to discuss relevant current events.
• I learned so much about social movements and all the dynamics that go with them! I'm
very interested in how social movements can influence the world, and I learned literally so
much about all the factors that play into social movements. I am honestly thinking of basing
my senior comps around a transnational social movement.
• I am planning to use my work in this class to apply for a Fulbright. Thanks so much!
• This class really helped me figure out how I could take what I am learning in college and
utilize that to create positive social change. I also think it helped me turn my interests into
class work which made me excited to come to class and discuss each week.
• I benefitted tremendously from this course. As a student who is particularly interested in
social movements, this course provided me with the basic framework and research skills to
continue educating myself on how social movements operate, emerge, and function. The
assignments were also extremely practical. I learned how to write a position letter to a
government official, create a comprehensive and feasible research design, and complete a
Fulbright application.
• Overall, this course made me think about social movements differently, not just as passing
occurrences in my life, but instead, complex efforts that have the potential to make change.
I learned a lot of theory that I've already been able to apply to my other classes. Taking this
class has pushed me to consider advocacy work in the IR field.
• Great class and professor!! Thank you so much!
• I really appreciate everything Professor Ayoub has done for this class.
• Professor Ayoub is one of the best instructors I have ever had. I will definitely be taking
another class with him again!
• Professor Ayoub is an incredible addition to the DWA department.
• This class was amazing, it was well organized and I learned a lot. This is one of the better
DWA electives that I've taken as a part of the major.
Phillip M. Ayoub

• Professor Ayoub is one of my favorite professors that I have had at Occidental. I feel
extremely grateful that I got to take a course from him. He truly cares about student's
learning and success.
• Prof. Ayoub is amazing. My classmates and I LOVED going to his class every Tuesday.
• Being a stem major, I took this course purely as an elective out of interest. My writing
skills, reading skills and ability to understand and study political theory increased greatly.
Professor Ayoub is one of the best professors I have had in my college experience, and his
seminar was always the highlight of my week. His robust experience and expertise in
political theory and study of social movements makes him a true asset to the college, and I
would love to take another course with him.

DWA 258

• Professor Ayoub's teaching in this class was phenomenal. It is clear that he is extremely
knowledgeable in this field and he is passionate about the class. He made concepts
approachable and interesting. As well, I think its structure--with the first half focusing on
history and the second on IR theory--was well thought out. I had never taken a DWA course
before, but he made it easy to understand and engaging.
• I really enjoyed Professor Ayoub’s class! He is very thorough with his explanations, he
absolutely knows what he’s talking about, he is attentive of the needs of the students, and
he is very caring. This DWA course is seen as a niche subject in the field of academics,
however Professor Ayoub proved that it should be more widely taught and it is a very
important course to teach.
• I cannot praise Professor Ayoub's instruction of this course enough. He quickly made all
students feel welcome, comfortable and encouraged as we discussed sometimes tough
topics. The layout of the course was cohesive and made sense to everyone in the room
regardless of prior knowledge of the subject. His expectations were clearly communicated
and he always provided detailed and useful feedback.
• It was great to have a community of queer people and allies to spend time with 2x/week. I
will continue to grow these relationships throughout college and after Oxy. It was also
AMAZING to have a professor who is so knowledgeable about queer history and activism
and international relations. Professor Ayoub is a great role model. Additionally, the journal
entries assignments were a wonderful mechanism to allow us students to connect LGBT
history and research with current events. These assignments made our class material feel
much more relevant, and they have given me confidence to continue doing these analyses
throughout my life.
• One of the biggest strengths of this course was allowing students to delve deeper into
anything they personally found interesting at the end of the course which made the overall
experience feel much more tailored to everyone's unique desires and needs. Another
strength was the environment that was created in class, it was a very safe space that was
incredibly productive towards discussion and debating of ideas. Overall this is one of the
most enjoyable courses I've taken at Occidental.
• The material was always interesting and engaging, and I liked the scope of the class in that
it gave a good historical summary as well as being able to focus on details and individuals.
Phillip M. Ayoub

The use of films and multimedia tools was a strength of the course, as well as the fact that
Professor Ayoub is clearly an expert in this field and could explain the concepts very well.
• Professor Ayoub is extremely organized and he explains concepts clearly. He also gives
great feedback. He attached a personal letter to everyone's work with detailed feedback.
He also did it in a timely manner which I really appreciate. He also led the class discussions
super well and effectively and answered questions extremely clearly and in depth. He really
encouraged discussion and made everyone feel comfortable to speak up and participate by
validating our opinions.
• Ayoub is a rising star in the field of LGBT politics and social movement studies, so his
insight both through a historical look at LGBT communities and as a political science scholar
connected the past, present and future of the LGBT political movement. Additionally, his
integration of guest speakers was incredible in looking at the vast array of topics and
specializations in LGBT politics, and it was a gift to be able to engage with top scholars in the
field.
• The biggest strength of the course was the class environment that Professor Ayoub
created. Having a class dealing with a heavily marginalized people, professor Ayoub made
every effort to ensure that everyone was welcome in the class discussions and that the class
and his office were spaces that everyone in the class respected. For me, this allowed me to
share my own experience as a marginalized student and to learn from other marginalized
students, which allowed me to grow both as an academic but also as an individual.
Furthermore, the clarity of the course content and assignments made the class enjoyable
because for me as a student I was able to focus on the assignments without having to worry
about missing some little detailed buried in the prompt.
• P. Ayoub knows the course materials extremely well, so much so that at times he is almost
like an encyclopedia and can fact check us at every corner and provide context to an issue
we are learning. his strengths are also that he takes time to explain things and tries hard to
trace the histories of different movements so we have a more rounded/chronological
understanding of them.
• Ayoub organized the class extremely well, and I have no idea how he could have done
better. He outdid himself in constructing this class.
• I have so much more PRIDE and KNOWLEDGE in my queer identity. As a DWA major, this
class was also a fascinating way to examine transnational movements and identities, which
positively challenges DWA 102's emphasis on states. This class shows the diversity of
international relations. Furthermore, Professor Ayoub's unique research on LGBT
rights/queer identity from an IR perspective has inspired me to possibly do my senior comps
on education from an IR perspective (get ready for Spring 2021, y'all!). Ayoub's alternative
approach to IR is IMPORTANT and VALUABLE at this academic institution and for Oxy's DWA
Department! Ultimately, this course has been my favorite class I've taken at Oxy. PS.
Someone once told me, "to go to Oxy, you have to be a little queer." Let's keep the DWA
department queer, too :)
• This class allowed me to engage in a topic that is very personal to me. I was able to not
only increase my academic understanding of the discourse surrounding LGBT rights, but also
expand my personal knowledge of my own identity. I do not think this would have been
possible if not for the supportive and inclusive class environment created by the professor.
Phillip M. Ayoub

Furthermore, the material that Prof. Ayoub chose for the class was well laid out and was a
good venture into not just LGBT rights but also history, culture, and the future of LGBT
movements.
• Overall I really recommend this class to anyone regardless of their background or typical
interests. This course was very much out of my major and typical field of interest but I took
a chance on it since I needed another 4 unit course in my schedule and it looked interesting
and I'm glad I did. I learned a lot, genuinely really enjoyed it, and am now walking away
from this course with a better understanding and appreciation for not only the history of
the fight for LGBT rights, but also for the efforts that go into societal change and how
inspiring certain historical people are.
• Professor Ayoub was very accessible and replied to emails super quickly, which I really
appreciate. You can tell that he cares deeply about his students, which is what I look for in a
good professor. He also put just as much effort as we did, which is rare. He also asked for
feedback about the class every once in a while and adjusted accordingly, and everyone
really appreciates him. He also stimulated a nice classroom environment.
• Professor Ayoub is a much-needed breath of fresh air to Oxy's DWA department, and his
specialization in LGBT rights is extremely important. His skill as a scholar and a professor is a
rare combination, and I hope to have classes with him again. Thank you Professor!
• This course was excellent and I hope that the college makes the obvious decision of
keeping Professor Ayoub as a teacher here, and for Professor Ayoub to keep teaching this
class. This class being geared towards LGBT students allows us to be more engaged in the
topics and really allowed us to create an academic space where our experiences and beliefs
are validated. This is something that wouldn't happen in other classes with similar themes
but not focusing on LGBT rights. This class was such a transformative experience for me I
would STRONGLY advise that this class continue to be taught so that other students can
experience the same thing that I did.

• Extremely relevant to current political climate and events. Prof. Ayoub is an excellent
professor who finds ways to communicate with students in a clear and effective
method. He’s proactive in making voices heard and never makes a student’s idea feel
stupid no matter how wrong it is.
• [Beneficial aspects]: I appreciated how he made material easy to understand for
someone who does not have much background in political science. Also, he was very
clear in what was expected in each assignment. … From a student who doesn’t have
much background in political science, I felt uncomfortable at first. Throughout the class,
I became more comfortable from his constructive feedback and how his attitude
towards students fosters a feeling of being comfortable and unafraid to talk in class.
• Appreciated the thoughtfulness of the way the course was structured and taught in
general. Dr. Ayoub clearly invested a lot of time to make this an informative, engaging
and worthwhile, and it shows. He cares. The same cannot be said for every prof. …
Deeply grateful for courses like this and for professors like Dr. Ayoub.
Phillip M. Ayoub

• The most beneficial aspect of the course was the feedback on the paper. By constantly
getting feedback it was much easier to ensure my research was groin in the right
direction.
• I was really able to develop a deep understanding of social movements whilst also being
expose to a diverse amount of opinions.
• [Most beneficial]: It’s hard to say, because it felt as if the entire course was beneficial.
The only compliant would be length, I wish it was 4 hours per meeting [instead of 2]
because the topic was so interesting. … Dr. Ayoub: Great course! I really learned a lot,
enjoyed it and will continue to look at social movements with my co-op.

• As a queer person, this course is very personal and important to me (extremely

important). Having this offered made my Drexel experience. Getting all of the speakers
was amazing. It is not only getting to interact with different perspective, it is engaging
with current, real academic work.
• This course means so much to me. As someone who comes from a town where students
were not allowed to form a Gay-Straight Alliance until 2016, it is so refreshing to have
the opportunity to take a class focused on the LGBT community and learn more about
its history.
• This course was probably the most well-organized and led course I have had at Drexel.
Ayoub does so much work promoting Drexel [through?] his research and teaching.
Phillip M. Ayoub

• The professor was exceptional! He did an exceptional job selecting reading material, and
integrating into the class. Lectures were truly special. [He] was approachable and made
asking for help or clarification easy; also was great at explaining theories on ideas that
were difficult to grasp.
• This course as a whole was very beneficial. I personal have been fortunate enough to
have a basic understanding of LGBT issues, but I still learned a TON that I never learned
in SOC or WGST classes. I think this course should be required for all PSCI
majors/minors. Dr. Ayoub is the perfect professor for this course – he was professional
with sensitive issues and allowed all students to speak their minds.
• Prof. Ayoub is awesome! Would recommend him to anyone who wants to have a
wonderful learning experience. Midterm was challenging but after some studying I felt
comfortable. Grading fair and timely.
• Amazing instructor; great informative and educational guest speakers – would highly
recommend to peers.
• Was amazing to have the experience of this class.
• I wish more classes were like this.
• Great class overall and well taught. Thank you.
• This course needs to be offered every term… should be a staple at Drexel; Prof. Ayoub
should also be the only one teaching it. His approach is unparalleled and he is a
phenomenal person.
• Great professor, interesting topics, great guest lectures, welcoming environment.
• A great class that really opened my eyes and made me actually want to learn more.
• Honestly, this class was amazing. I learned an insane amount, got to engage with current
researchers and their work.... I couldn’t rate the professor, Mr. Ayoub, any more highly.
He was beyond knowledgeable, caring, engaged, and helpful. 10/10

• Absolutely loved this course. Originally I took this course because it fit into my schedule
and it sounded interesting, but I can honestly say that I have learned more about the
world (and of course the material itself) than I have in any other course I've taken at
Drexel.
• I loved the seminar style of the course and the constant encouragement to contribute
ideas and comments. The film, occasional videos, and guest speaker were great ways to
keep things diverse and interesting. I think the span of history covered was on point and
it was interesting to see the connections between the past and contemporary of LGBT
politics. The course was thought-provoking and I feel like I got to know both my
classmates and Phillip. I appreciated opportunities for peer review and draft review by
the instructor; that was really helpful for keeping papers on track. Phillip seems like a
passionate, genuine instructor who deeply cares about the welfare and learning of his
students. He is one of my favorite professors in my 4 years at Drexel, and I hope more
students have the opportunity to take this course with him in the future. This course got
me really interested in minorities within the political science realm as a whole and I plan
to pursue more knowledge about this. Also it was super nice how he brought in donuts
every once in a while!
• Excellent course, one of the best courses I've ever taken at Drexel
• Amazing course, valuable addition to the course catalog, glad it was offered, and I'm
glad I took the course despite the volume of reading. One of the best informed teachers
I've had, enthusiastic, well prepared, obviously his research focus, yet able to translate it
for people with less expertise than him.

• Professor Ayoub is one of the best professors I have had in my 3 plus years at Drexel. He
truly is passionate about the work he does and it shows through. Very few professors
put in so much thought and effort to make the class engaging and fair to all students. I
would recommend any student to take a class of his in a heartbeat. Drexel is very lucky
to have him in the Politics Department.
• Dr. Ayoub has presented one of my favorite (if not my favorite hands down) courses
that I've had the pleasure of taking in my tenure at Drexel. The material was intriguing
but his in depth knowledge about the material as well as his noticeable passion for the
field was enthralling. This experience is one that I'll remember and I've learned more
than I ever imagined that I would. I look forward to exploring many of the topics that I
was exposed to in further detail outside of the classroom and because of this
experience, there are many doors that I may have to peer in to as far as professional
careers and academic areas of interest are concerned. This course was great but I
honestly don't know if it would've been nearly as stellar without Dr. Ayoub at the helm.
• Amazing class, teach more so I can take another of your classes before I graduate in

relaxed body language, really good eye contact -> use of hands. -You look at your audience in a
very professional way. -Excellent language recourses -> story telling/engaging. Story telling
aspects are very strong. You engage your students. -Nice way of approaching your audience,
controlled humor. -Good structure – good explaining skills, really linking to audience (“you
