2. Find the roots of 4𝑥 2 + 3x + 5 = 0 by the method of completing square.

17. If x = 1/3 is a solution to the equation 3𝑥 2 – 2kx + 5 = 0 find k.

18. Check whether the following are quadratic equations or not .

LINEAR EQUATIONS IN TWO VARIABLES

1. On comparing the ratios a /a , b /b and c /c , find out whether the lines representing the following

b. 6x – 3y + 10 = 0 ; 2x – y + 9 = 0

2. On comparing the ratios a /a , b /b and c /c , find out whether the pair of linear equations

14. A father's age is thrice the sum of ages of his 2 children. After five years, his age will be

2. Check whether g(x) is a factor of p(x) by dividing first polynomial by second polynomial

10. If -2,1 and 3 are zeroes of polynomial 𝑥 3 – 2𝑥 2 – 5x + 6 ,verify relationship between the zeroes and

the coefficients.

11. Obtain all the zeroes of 2𝑥 3 +𝑥 2 – 6x -3, if two of its zeroes are -3and 3.
