1.0 General visual Inspection.

1.1 Verification that:

 The transformer is of specified type and designed according to the standards.
 Transformer have been constructed and assembled in accordance with agreed layout and
documentation.
 The installed devices and components are in accordance with schematic diagrams and the
apparatus list, including correct labeling.
 Painting is satisfactory and in accordance with standard and/or specification.
 Degree of protection is achieved.
 Adequate termination facilities for Power cable connection.

2.0 Electrical and mechanical functional tests:

For the electrical functional testing all necessary hardware and software shall be prepared by the sub
supplier and be ready for test and use in their test bay.

All tests to be performed in accordance with one of the following standards:

 IEC 60076.
 ANSI/IEEE C57.12.90.

2.1 Measurement of voltage ratio and check of the vector group (clock hour figure).
Purpose is to check that the deviation of the voltage ratio does not exceed the limit given in IEC 60076 or
ANSI/IEEE C57.12.90 (generally  0.5%).

At the same time the vector group symbol of the transformer is checked.

2.2 Measurement of winding resistance.

The resistance between all pairs of phase terminals, in each transformer winding, are measured using
DC. The measurement is performed for each connection of connectable winding and for each tap changer
position.
Furthermore the corresponding winding temperature is measured.

The resistance measurement will show whether the winding joints are in order and the windings correctly
connected.

2.3 Measurements of impedance voltage and load losses.

The measurement is carried out to determine the load losses and the impedance voltage at rated
frequency and current. The measurement are performed separately for each winding pair and
furthermore on the principal and extreme tap changer positions.

2.4 Measurement of no-load loss and current.

No-load losses P0 and the no load current I0 of the transformer are determined at rated voltage and rated
frequency. Test is usually carried out at several voltages above and below the rated voltage and the
results are interpolated to correspond to the voltage values from 90 – 115% of rated voltage at 5%
intervals.

2.5 Induced over voltage withstand test.

The object of the test is to secure that the insulation between the phase windings, turns, coils,
tapping leads and terminals, withstand the temporary over voltages and switching over voltages to
which the transformer may be subjected during its lifetime.
The test is successful if no collapse of the test voltage appears.

2.6 Separate-source voltage withstand test.

The object of the test is to secure that the insulation between the windings and the insulation between
windings and earthed parts withstand the temporary over voltages and switching over voltages which
may occur in service operation.

The test is successful if no collapse of the test voltage occurs.

3.0 Check of final documentation.

Introduction to the complete final documentation to be presented to and accepted by FLS, during the
inspection.
This shall include the test sheets as minimum in draft version.
