Cost Estimator
Summary of Position

• The Cost Estimating Lead position provides estimate development support and guidance
to the Project Team and Estimators in accordance with requisite Company estimating.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The position performs project cost risk identification and analysis to validate and/or
recommend appropriate contingency for TIC estimates.
• The position serves a functional role to ensure appropriate and consistent processes,
procedures, and standards are developed and applied for Company project cost estimates.
• The position is part of the Centralized Project Services Team and will report directly to
the Cost Estimating Team Lead.
• Develop and implement appropriate estimating processes, procedures and standards and
provide estimating support to the Project Team.
• Develop and apply benchmark cost targets to assess project cost viability.
• Communicate performance expectations and responsibilities to the Project Team and
Cost Estimators.
• Review and validate project estimates to ensure they are properly aligned with requisite
Company estimating guidelines and procedures.
• Review and validate estimate scope, productivity rates, estimate assumptions/exclusions
and unit costs to ensure that they are reasonable and properly aligned with the project
execution plan and contracting strategy.
• Integrate contractor developed estimates into TIC budgets.
• Update and maintain estimate and actual cost database.
• Reconcile cost estimates with contractor bids, estimates, and actual costs during project
execution.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
• Minimum 5 years of professional cost estimating experience.
• Alaska North Slope project experience.
• Ability to independently organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel.
Desirable criteria & qualifications
• Extensive project estimating experience on capital projects with TIC budgets over $5
Million.
• Broad experience with various estimating and project management software platforms
such as Aspen Kbase, EstiMate, G2, Prizm, P6, etc.
• North Slope, AK construction experience.
• Benchmarking experience, comparative analysis to IPA, RS Means, and Richardson, or
similar systems.
• AACE CEP (Certified Estimating Professional) certification
