The Marian pilgrimage to Antipolo

No less devout and fervent than those of the previous years has been the
pilgrimage of this year to venerate the sanctuary of the Virgin of Our Lady of
Peace and Good Voyage, held on 7 and 8 May. The extraordinary vigil of the
night adoration celebrated on Saturday by the niche after the procession of
the Blessed Virgin was offered for the religious peace of our old metropolis
and in relief by the dissolution of the company of Jesus. The procession of the
Virgin was as always very lucid, and in it were used the colorful pearl lanterns
that represent the sacred mysteries of the Rosary and our father and Hail
Marys. The Marian Congregation, the Knights of the Sta. Cruz, the youth of
Polo, Bulacan, the alumni of the Ateneo, the Knights of Columbus, the
Crusaders of Christ the King, the nocturnal worshippers, and the last part of
the Procession was made up of doctors, lawyers, members of the Apostleship
of prayer and night worshipers. All were praying the Rosary and sung Marian
hymns.

Back the procession in the church, immediately the night worship began,
whose turns were followed nourished and without interruption until half past
three o'clock in the morning when the Excellency Auxiliary Bishop of Manila,
who had presided the procession with Mitre And staff, began the prayer mass
in which he distributed Holy Communion to the multitude of pilgrims and
faithful who filled the temple. After the mass, the procession of the Blessed
Sacrament was carried out by the same prelate and with the assistance of all
the pilgrims who were joined by many other faithful who had just arrived. The
procession made the stations accustomed before the prepared altars, and
back in the church gave the blessing with his Divine majesty and then
proceeded to the reserve whereupon ended the pilgrimage.
