Overview: The concept of the justice system has seen a remarkable development of time. The evolution
is a manifestation on the vicissitudes of the law. The first significant recorded law establish was the Code
of Hammurabi, it is one of the most complete written legal codes, proclaimed by the Babylonian king
Hammurabi, who reined from 1972 to 1750 B.C Hammurabi expanded the city-state of Babylon along
the Euphrates River to unite all of southern Mesopotamia. The eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth
foundation of the law is perceived as cruel at the same time fair T.e creation of prison or jail is an
inevitable building typology developed during this period. However, overtime the objectives of
imprisonment have changed taking into consideration several aspects that affect how people would
respond in different circumstances. These changes have been witnessed and manifested on the planning
and design of jail and has continued to evolved.

Requirements:

Prepare a conceptual design framework on how our jail should be planned and designed, which should
be backed by established policies and theories. The 17 Sustainable goals should be considered in the
recommendation, specifying the specific goal/s addressed.
