Chapter 1:

Architecture of GIS feeders type ELK-3/550

è mechanical combination rules for GIS elements must be highly flexible
for an easy assembly of individual switching concepts like Double Busbar,
Rings and 1 1/2CB configurations

è Horizontal circuit breakers for low center of gravity and easy

removal of extinguishing chamber

è minimum variation of enclosures/ minimum variation of conductor elements

è easy and selective access to components

(mainly high busbar availability in case of maintenance and overhaul on breaker and disconnectors)

è proper gas partition concept

(to cope with requirements of specification regarding selective maintenance and overhaul)

Buffers between all DS and CBs Reason:

required to keep both feeders Customer requirement, that
in service during CB overhaul all feeders stay alive during
CB overhaul

Note, the secondary winding turns are OUTSIDE the SF6-gas compartment. They are NOT exposed
to high voltage conditions and therefore only subjected to low voltage insulation requirements

The metal enclosure around the secondary circuit is fully capable to carry the return current and
provides a good srceening for magnetic fields and against high-frequency signals
