REVIEW THE ARTICLE

In this article, it tells how karla faye tucker appealed to reduce the sentence received to life
imprisonment. Karla Faye Tucker felt that she had changed and become a new person because
while in prison she found God and became a prison servant in the process of rehabilitating other
perpetrators. He wants his sentence to be a prisoner for life and he will also serve to make
changes by giving a good example to other inmates. This wish by Faye Tucker was also
supported by a spokesman for the founder of the Christian Coalition Pat Robertson. He said that
Tucker must be free to continue to preach the word of God to fellow prisoners. If the appeal
made by Faye Tucker was rejected by the judge, he would be the first woman to be executed in
Texas since the US Civil War.

9. Does the death penalty exist in your country?
10. Who was the last person to be executed in your country? What crime did he commit and

Answer
1. I cannot say that she has turned into someone new in the sense that she has repented or
will not commit a crime again. Because what is inside each person will only be known to
him and God.
2. Yes, because she himself committed acts that violated human rights, namely by killing
two people at once.
3. Death penalty
4. You could say it is not fully supportive, with other meanings that all depend on the level
of crime committed. if indeed the crime committed is very detrimental to both other
people, society and even the State. Examples of death sentences for drug dealers,
murderers etc.
5. No, because the sentence has nothing to do with personal matters, everything goes
according to the law, if indeed the crimes committed are very heavy, then it is appropriate
to be given a death sentence.
6. Yes, because the death penalty has become a very severe sanction for perpetrators of
crime. The deterrent effect given is so strong that it will prevent other people from
committing a crime.
7. Yes, it is better to reduce criminals than to kill innocent people.
8. The death penalty does not need to be replaced, it continues to run as usual and also a
lifetime law also goes on. If indeed the perpetrator of the crime is given a death sentence
and does not agree or make an appeal, the minimum sentence is a life sentence.
9. Still valid / still in existence
